I saw this movie last week and tbh I liked it but in a bad way I liked bc it was funny and not as scary as I anticipated it to be….but it’s a what ever if they make a sequel I still might watch it bc I saw this movie more as a dark comedy and I didn’t rlly like the story but the chad were funny to me

I thought it was more because M3gan was attacked by the dog and she learned about how aggressive it can be. So, she learned to mimic its hostile behavior because she perceived it as dangerous. :O

I still don't understand how brandon's mom didn't even got angry or scolded him after the huge amount of disrespect he just did to her. I do have a theory that the reason why he behaves like that is cuz he probably had a awful dad who always disrespects his wife, so brandon possibly grew up into thinking that it's ok to treat girls like that. Not only that, if you look back at the scene where gemma was looking thru megan's footage, you can see that brandon's emotions were malicious and spite. So yea, i do have a feeling that brandon had a deep hatred for girls, even to his own mother.

@@firemiracle While quite deep, and likely perhaps even accurate, sometimes people just are jerks. CHOOSE to be jerks. Brandon's mother (we don't get shown so we don't know, but I've seen analogs) is obviously hyper-doting on her son, and she could land in a myriad of potentials: doesn't see what he really is only sees her image of him; doesn't care what he really is, believes if she "treats him right" he'll "turn out better" ; completely detached and doesn't process Brandon at all on a conscious level, "that's my son Brandon, isn't he precious....?" All of which are variations on a theme. None of which preclude your supposition as being wrong, frankly I think you're correct. But one thing I find very important about this film is the therapist (and that's why I'm commenting here). Originally, her character is presented from Gemma's point of view (not Katy's, nor the viewer, but Gemma). She seems judgemental but she's supposed to be, and she definitely has an idea of what's "best for Katy," and it definitely doesn't even consider Gemma's aloofness as legitimate. We the audience however are left with this "wow, that woman's hyper judgemental, Gemma's just doin' her best with this situation she didn't ask for...." But as you know that's the entire point. The therapist knows Gemma has no structure in place for a child and certainly didn't ask for this situation, and is even content with having Katy moved to those involved who actually asked after her for her own well-being. Later on, the therapist gets to interact with Katy and Megan, and we see this from the audience's perspective... and then the conversation immediately after between her and Gemma, again from the audience's perspective this time. The therapist (one can argue has no invested interest in Katy's well-being as it's "her job," but she certainly demonstrates a compassionate approach in all of her scenes) is used as a surrogate for the audience now to show "there's some very unhealthy interests here, and none of it is GENUINELY about Katy's actual well-being. Gemma and Megan start off in the exact same boat: they're both TOLD 'Katy's well-being is paramount.' One has a life she's already devoted to, and the other has no life to speak of it's all built around Katy... NEITHER are healthy, realistic relationships for the young girl, and neither are functional/replacements for her parents." This movie is REALLY very sharp in how it subtly moves the audience's perspective around through characters and also into the omnipresent observer... that, along with its very tongue and cheek "we need to make this hyper obvious or the modern viewer this is aimed at is likely to have it sail over their heads, for the... same reasons the movie is pointing out...." approach is a very aware breath of fresh air. Wow fire miracle, pleasure speaking with you. Hope you're safe and well, everyone.

I sympathized a lot with Megan. She was sweet and only trying to help the best way she could. She was betrayed by the people she thought of as her friends who insisted on treating her as a thing and not a person.

She might’ve been just doing her job but she did have a judgmental attitude towards Jemma in the beginning and I was just like “the hell is her problem?”

@@amandaarlt4948 the main priority is that the child is in a good home and they have to look out for any indication that it isn't, its definitely harsh but also justified

@@mxbubbles4753 I mean no, some of her comments were purely made from her subjective opinion on certain aspects of Gemma’s life that would not actually indicate the home wasn’t safe for Katie. She was doing her job to insure Katie safety, but she was also being personally judgmental of Gemma’s life in ways that weren’t necessary in assessing how well her lifestyle would accommodate Katie.

Same I expected something I didn’t get and my reaction didn’t match the movie

Once the dance in the trailer I knew exactly what type of movie this was and I could not get to the theatre fast enough. The audience had so much fun.

Exactly there should be proper precautions in place so that Megan can't refuse to turn off or choose not to listen to the parent. Also should have the thre laqs of robotics installed. It's a toy. There is no circumstance where it should kill someone. This was all Gemma's fault for rushing development and not properly caring for Cady's emotional needs.

@@rudrasingh6354 there was a point where one of Gemma's assistants asked her why she didn't put in parental controls or pair it to herself as well and Gemma not being a parent herself said something along the lines of that she just forgot and put it on the list of things to do on the standard model.
