this song makes me think of all my childhood, and the late city nights of traveling rushing through the blurry tunnels warmed by the dim lights, and holding my breath for good luck. i was always half asleep, but that time remains the most enjoyable, untouched by misery and forever encased in nostalgia. my mom would always get lost, and we would have to backtrack sometimes, but i never minded the longer wait. the longer the wait, the more raindrops i can watch skitter off the window, leaning up against its cool interior as the bright chatter of my family is softened by my exhaustion. even if i was just 4ish, it is forever engrained in my memory and never will be forgotten.
