When Bhagwan first arrived back in India in 1985 he said that he had been well treated in the American Jails that he spent time in, and that the prison staff were respectful toward him and couldn't understand why he was imprisoned there. Then two years later he spoke at great length about how he had been poisoned with Thalium in one or more of the jails. My question is, was he poisoned in America, or instead poisoned upon return to his Ashram in Poona? There is a world of difference between the two motives. It is even possible that Sheila was actually protecting the master from assassination.

She was the backbone on which the commune was built. She was not spiritual, she did not meditate. She joined the ashram solely because she loved the guru. And whatever mistakes she made was because she was protecting the commune. She has already served sentence for it. God has given her a long and healthy life because she is not guilty. This is a second chance to prove herself.

Exactly. She was young and foolish. Little tact and patience and wait would have done more for them then their planning. She was guided not to be bending. She was not responsible if their PR was so poor. Rajneesh didn't try to win hearts of locals,change their opinion, drop city idea temporarily. Anything but direct friction. After all gurus know how to manage peoples emotions

He was not with her in a sexual way. She was drugging sannyasjns, committing crimes of all kinds, bugging his room and that of many sannyasins with out permission, tried to murder his doctor and other people, tried to spike the local restaurants with salmonella and caused so many people to fall sick.. what do you expect Osho to say? Of course he was going to call her out
