Welcome back everyone to a new video, today we are visiting Lisbon and this is the Maat Museum!

Sorry for the dirt spots on some shots! Some parts of the videos I shot at very high aperture, and didn't realize about the issue until the edition.

I‘ve been to the museum, unfortunately the first floor was under construction but thanks to you I got an impression of it. Awesome! I think one could point out that the maat is a great contrast to the electricity museum in the exhibition and architecture.

Good to see MAAT being busier then when we were there in Aug2019, when some spaces were closed off; great shots, I would compare the building to an urban knot, as it is fully connected to river-old city and waterfront and flows like a rope. Much appreciated to have found your channel; missed marktplaats by a week in 2014, now seen most of it. CheersMaarten ex Aotearoa NZ

Thanks for you comment Maarten! It has a privileged location, and some interesting connections with the city and the water as you said. I loved the link with the loca that the ceramic tiles used in the facade bring.

Well... B. it was a good recommendation :) The sound of water when youre sitting in the shelter is relaxing or even more for me. Theres also a few things that i liked in this building. thx :)

Good video. I encourage you posting more about museums. Their function is no longer to embellished repository of treasures and exhibitions. They have to be part of surroundings, they have facilitate the viewing of arts inside and even cause some emotional interaction to visitors. Sometimes the big name museums like the Guggenheim in Bilbao and The City of Arts Museum in Valencia may drive a lot of attention, because garish architecture. However, I found myself quite often pleased with smaller and less know museums where their architecture just works nicely for functionality, integration of surroundings and even conveying some emotion to visitors. I know that you are based in Europe, so, I am giving a very short list of smaller museums that I think have the criteria described above: Felix Nussbaum Museum in Osnabrück, Germany. Kiasma Musem in Helsinki, Finland. The New National Gallery in Berlin, Germany. By Mies van der Rohe. I hope you can do a walk of these soon.

I have started watching your vids, I am studying architecture and came across your channel though the Barcelona Pavilion, thank you they are very informative and beautifully presented... a lot of work goes into editing and recording... so I just wanted to say... 1.32 I can see dust on your camera lens... its not a criticism but something that I wanted to point out to help you grow and improve your channel, keep up the good work and stay safe in the pandemic

Thanks for the good words Alec!. After I shot the building I realized the sensor had some dust - not even the lens. It was so bright that even with an ND filter the aperture was quite low...

Well done again FW ! I was there in April this year and shot a lot of nice pictures (www.flickr.com/photos/durr-architect/albums/72157693769948961/page2). Unfortunately I could not visit the interior.
