The law does not operate like that. He is an adult. He knows the law that governs the use of roads when driving kids. He is a criminal. So him plus the school management that hired him should be answerable

Sad story for Liam. It is stupid to expect the driver to drive safely while keeping a keen eye on all the kids onboard. The school ought to have provided an assistant to monitor the kid's movement.There is a level of negligence on the driver but someone besides him should bear the bulk of the problem. From how the school handled the issue shows they are there for money and without any compassion on whatever they are doing. Parents, dont be enticed in how the school performs, look at how they treat the pupils because the safety of your kid is based on the decisions you make

At my child's school they call me baba siasa, coz the days she is dropped or picked and there is no accompaning teacher in the school van I never take it easy. Pole sana parents let's be involved

System failure in our country. In other nations such acts are punishable with massive jail terms and fines. Civil rights organisations should help file lawsuits in such cases.

@@mwendapoleee non of those children mentioned in the story died at their stop. Even if a grown up was waiting for them at their stop it wouldn't have helped. Both those children died by dropping off from their moving school bus.

It is a lesson to us, especially young parents. First, take the initiative to advocate and confront for children's safety to mitigate avoidable deaths. Secondly, Sch. administrations must be responsible for any outcome because they hire the drivers and matrons and own the buses. They must at least take a significant level of blame since the matrons and drivers adhere to some level of job descriptions given by the schools. Regardless, negligence among the drivers and matrons must be accounted for. Lastly, the habit of the government to run the system "as usual" need to stop. It is weird how Murkomen is asked the issue and responds, "this issue is big and concerns all vehicles." that is how politicians respond to questions. Everyone must take some account.

Safety is not entrenched in most Kenyans, here the school management, Driver too. This small children require one to safely help them alight from the bus and put at safe place before bus leaves.

I'll do justice for myself...... justice in Kenya ni bullshit.......I saw the driver's negligence last year when I travelled back home for vacation, I couldn't imagine the bus stopped far away and it was raining remember we live at the boarder, and we're at the main where trailer and lorries which transport petrol are are many in Busia Uganda, my daughter goes to school in Busia Kenya....... luckily that day I was with her waiting for a bus......I saw the driver but I didn't take the child coz the bus was supposed to stopped Infront of our shop......then I took a motorbike to school......Nili explain to the headteacher and I told her that wasn't the first time this happened since our neighbours told me what usually happens that kuna day mtoi ali cross the road kuenda kwa gari ,a 5yrs old ...... teacher alikuwa ana supervise aliteta ati niko na mdomo ......nikamuuliza what if it was her child on busy streets going alone towards the bus.........waliacha iyo ujinga .the school is St. Mary's nursery school
