Larry Fisherman

3 жыл бұрын

“Doodling In The Key Of C Sharp”, produced by Larry Fisherman, was released December 17, 2012 unofficially while Mac was working on Watching Movies With The Sound Off.
You can find part of the song on TreeJTV’s channel along with a video blog of some sort made by Rex Arrow: • a moment in time vol. 2
Original Video Source: vimeo.com/jakefried
Jake Fried (b.1984) began his artistic career as a painter, but as he went through the process of layering and modifying images, he realized what truly interested him was the way the images metamorphosed in the course of making a painting and he changed tracks to become an animator. His experimental films have been widely shown internationally, including at the Tate Modern and Sundance Film Festival. He has created commissioned work for clients including Adult Swim, Netflix and Harley-Davidson. Fried uses ink and white-out, sometimes adding gouache, collage and even coffee to generate hallucinatory vistas, modifying and shooting the images over and over to create mind-bending animations that evolve at a frenzied pace. He currently teaches animation at the Massachusetts College of Art & Design in Boston. More at www.inkwood.net

[Intro] Check, it's 6:26 in the morning I just made this beat 'cause I realized that I enjoy playing the piano Ah, you know, fuck you No one is in the room with me right now so I'm gonna record myself I'ma try and do this all in one take, so there's not a lot of editing 'Cause I'm too drunk to edit, and that's just the truth of the matter Aight, let's go [Verse] Uh, I said raps is cold, about twenty below I just realized I don't give a fuck any mo' Used to look into the mirror askin', "Where will this go?" Got big quick, kinda wish that I was takin' it slow It takes balls to go and break from the mould, I guess I did that I still got some dumbass fans who want K.I.D.S. back And I forget that they twelve years old, I must accept that Should probably stop thinkin' so much and just rap I wish life was kinda easier to figure out I wish it was like Ferris Bueller singin' "Twist and Shout" I got a couple reasons that I'll stick around But for the most part this shit is foul I place my hand on a stovetop to see if I'm awake I heard you takin' bath salts and eatin' people's face Saw the people I know personally I see they act a certain way because they workin' for me And if you take that as a diss it means I'm talkin' to you Know I never look down, I got knots in my shoe-strings Made some money, went and bought me a few things This ain't shit, I'm just doodling, haha I'm sick of goin' to the movies and people lookin' at me Inquire 'bout some shit that they know they shouldn't ask me Hollywood got every girl around the world fasting Like eatin' was a sin, when really beauty lie within Guess I wouldn't fuck me a fat bitch I just disagree wit'chu determining fat is Wanna go to Israel and see if there's a God there For now I'm 'bout to smoke some blunts and post in this lawn chair Could've been the mayor 'cause I'm excellent with politicking People never say what's on their minds because they on a mission Who do you think you are? And may God damn your soul if you forgot tradition Locked inside a box, a prison, somewhere there I saw a vision Met this girl with innocence and stole it while on top of linen Rocket, word to Roger Clemens, that don't mean a thing I'm in love with makin' melodies but scared to even sing For you judgmental fuckheads, talkin' 'bout my life You don't know me, and if you did, you'd say I'm nice Everyone I see always has some cool advice 'Bout what they'd do if they were me and all the issues they would fight You could never fathom what this shit is like And I hope you turn your bitch to dyke My kryptonite is me Yeah

"I'm in love with making melodies, but scared to even sing for you judgmental fuck heads, talking bout my life You don't know me, and if you did, you'd say I'm nice." As someone who loves to make music and loves to rap, but never really had the confidence to just do it, this line is too relatable. He is just so talented and so inspiring. He fearlessly puts his heart on a track and doesn't try to hide it. He was just real. There's a sample of someone talking in some other song I heard years ago, where the guy says "People can say that you left the world just a little bit better than when you found it.," or something to that effect. I feel that Mac did that. He's one of those guys who I look at and say "I understand, I wanna do that too."

@LtDan-fy7lc
@LtDan-fy7lc Жыл бұрын
@@Goddessy That's facts though, people are toxic as fuck, for the most part. But you just gotta ignore their bullshit and eventually you'll find people who connect with you. The other thing too is some people just need time for it to grow on them, perhaps they just weren't in the right mindset for your song to really hit them. I mean, I made this comment a year ago, and just about a month or so ago, we were joking around at work and put on a beat and I spit a verse that I have written from memory and everyone was kinda blown away. I'm kind of a perfectionist so it's hard for me to look at something I made and call it well-done, but it was kinda cool to look up and see people with their jaw dropped. I'm in a spot in life right now where I am simply too tied up in other responsibilities to be able to actually sit down and take the time to record shit, but some day I will actually make a mixtape just for the hell of it. You gotta just block out the haters and go for it. If you flop, then at least you can say you tried. But even then, if I made something exactly the way I wanted it to sound, then I wouldn't care if only one other person enjoyed it - I'll still feel like I accomplished something, and got some weight off of my chest. They key imo is that you gotta make your music for you, and to hell with whether or not other people like it. Not only does the process feel so much better without that constant stress/weight on your mind, but you end up sounding better and are more able to connect with and relate to the people you want to reach. It gives you more musical integrity, because it seems less artificial. Also, in my personal opinion, it makes you a better artist because you truly expressed yourself, rather than molding what you say to fit somebody else's definition of "good," and expressing yourself is quite literally the entire point of making music.

It amazes me how talented Mac was but yet was somewhat ashamed of his music of what others think as an artist the biggest critic is "you" we judge ourselves to much for the art we create instead of enjoying the things we make take pride in things we make as artist to keep going and creat do more this can also be applied to life if we're feeling a little bit lost don't over complicate things just have a simple view of things for now and as you grow and learn and become more mature we figure things out it just takes time.

Used to hear this song with my old best friend. He showed me this song and he would rap EXACT like Mac same style and all. Long story short he got hooked and drugs and I tried helping and so would his mom . Now I haven’t spoke to him in YEARS. Every time I hear this song brings back strong memories of my younger days and good times with a true friend .

Mac has been one of my favorite artists and I grew up listening to him. This used to be one of my favorite hidden gems by him, and I'm so glad that its getting the attention that it is. I love that swimming and circles got the response that they did, but it's also nice to know that new fans are experiencing the Mac that I fell in love with.

Been a Mac fan for a long time…. Just found this song today and to think of his lyrics and him actually talking about his life 😓😓😓💔💔💔💔 that breaks my heart especially when he said “my krypton is me” he was his own worst enemy and it took the best of him

This song is so perfect in its imperfect Mac miller way - I can picture every lyric in my head so clearly and actually feel it. Does anyone else ever feel like Mac had a deep, yet beautiful way of connecting his raps/life experiences with others whether dark or light? His constant theme of duality really resonates, and his music was ahead of his time like even before the world got especially crazy, now we are all aware and have a higher consciousness of it. RIP Mac though your an angel, your spirit lives on 9️⃣2️⃣ till infinity, I’ll be on that 🌊 too following my dreams as a writer- music such as his inspires me and makes me want to leave my mark in this strange world too. 💯 🌌🌀♾📓☯️

I feel like this keeps me in good mental spirits. I wish I saw him when he was alive. I remember when kids was first on Spinrilla, it would’ve worn out if it was a cd. I was 12 at the time and at an all time mental low. I can’t wait for the solo concert I’ll get when I meet him.
