I could just listen to him talk for hours. His voice is just so calming. He kind of reminds me of the Bob Ross of make up. He talks and explains it so easily while he completes something way more complex than I could ever dream of doing.

Rick is the man. The first time I ever had exposure to this god of incognito was in 1983 when I saw the making of Michael Jacksons thriller and his previous work on American Werewolf in London. I was not only hooked but also inspired.

For a fraction of a second at the beginning of this video, I thought that was Brandon Lee. But then I realized that this year is 30th anniversary of Brandon death. 😢 The Crow is just my favorite film of that genre. It has not much with this video except the fact we are talking makeup. Rick Baker is definitely one of the greatest makeup artists of our time. I would say iconic for the monsters he made.

This is so amazing!

I spent close to 3 hours on this makeup on the day we filmed it. Could do it in a lot less time without the distraction of a film crew. The make up for my previous master class,see my KZfaq channel ,started out about the same time but I got it down to an hour with practice. I can also work faster on my own face because I don't have to be careful. I love doing makeups that are just paint.
