Bravo MAESTRO! SANTANA is a living legend! I am over 70 years old, I am from the old Soviet Union(from Yerevan,Armenia). It was difficult then to acquire your recordings and listen to them. because there was an iron curtain between the Soviet Union and the outside world. Carlos you are a legend In my heart! You not mexican or american you are man of the world, you know. His guitar is not playing, his guitar is crying, he talks to people on the guitar. Bravo MAESTRO!

When Harry Belafonte introduces you.......you know you are THE MAN! Saw him at LAX Airport in 2004. Didn't want to bother him so I put my hands together in praying hands and bowed slightly without saying anything to me. He smiled and beckoned me over. I didn't ask for an autograph or say a word. He waved me over to him and gave me a hug and wished me "travelling mercies" and he disappeared into a black Yukon. That memory is way better than his signature. Brava Senor Santana. Listening to your music is like taking a trip through the UNIVERSE!

I finally got to see the Legendary Carlos Santana in concert in Atlanta, after being transformed in my youth decades ago, through video of his 1969 Woodstock performance. When I heard drum machines and computer-generated beats taking over the airwaves & industry, I couldn't help but protest, "That's not percussion!" "If you want to hear percussion, go listen to Santana!" (Still true to this day. His rhythms captivates the heart.)

@@maryrosekent8223 Turlock California in the summer of 1968 at the War Memorial. Santana was a relatively new band, few in my small town had heard of the band, so there may have been 15 people there. I thought they would pack it up and go home but they stayed. It was like my friend and I had been blessed with a private concert. Never felt so much love, joy, deeply spiritual rythmic messages. My heart was opened and Santana's love entered my soul and has stayed with me all of these years. Love Carlos so much, thank you God for leading me to him. A major blessing in my life. Now I have the pleasure of hearing other bands in open air concerts, in another small town in Cali, that have been guided and tutored by Carlos.

My dad played with him in Tijuana as a little boy, Carlos Dad was my dads music teacher and My uncle was Carlos close friend they worked in Tijuana in the ugly bars etc just to bring money home for food etc. when they moved to the US and after Carlos Sucess during Woodstock etc my dad performed at Dodger stadium for an event and saw Carlos. Carlos was so happy and humbled to see my dad and they talked for a long time backstage. My dad always was proud of him and his sucess! When I was little and Carlos would be on TV my dad would say, Ay Carlos! You got your way and you proved us all wrong but put down the marijuana lol because, Carlos always fought with his dad that he didn’t want to play the violin! He was destined to be something bigger!
