Macallan whisky fetches US$ 2.7 mil. at auction

Moving on to the final story, a rare bottle of Macallan 1926 single malt whisky has been sold for a record-breaking 2.7 million U.S. dollars.
The sale at a Sotheby's auction on Saturday makes it the most expensive wine or spirit ever sold at auction.
The Scotch whisky manufactured by the famed Macallan distillery, was matured for 60 years in dark oak sherry casks before being bottled in 1986. Only 40 bottles were ever produced, and were not made available for purchase, rather offered to top clients.
A similar bottle of Macallan 1926 with a different label was sold in 2019 for around 1.9 million dollars.

What is he getting back for feeding all those people? Fuzzy warm feelings? There has to be something of value coming back the other way. Otherwise it’s a loosing proposition. There needs to be equal exchange to be fair.
