Update: Chrome Optimized for M1 released 3 days ago works much better native. Still safari is more optimized but Chrome works finally faster now. Tensorflow 2.4 will work with M1 but I guess I need to update my Python to have support. Will get back to it

One of the most unique reviews of the M1 Macbook. All other tech KZfaqrs are focused on how fast it is in terms of video rendering only and benchmark scores which isnt that helpful. I was looking for a review exactly like this where I wanted to see the apps and library support for the new chip as it is on a completely different architecture.

Probably one of the best videos I've seen on this product. Wanting to get it to run Xcode and FCPX. My 2015 MacBook pro is getting slow. Took about an hour to render a one layer 12 minute video and to see it took you 8 minutes to render a multilayer 22 minute video is very exciting! Thank you and keep up the great work!

I have the Macbook Pro M1 and as a Software Engineer myself I think Pro is much better than Air because that 10% performance difference actually is super efficient. So I think you should have gone for Pro and not Air. Nonetheless Good review!

you should make a follow up to this video. A lot of things have now been supported such as homebrew and parallel. It would be interesting to see what has been supported and what has still yet to come

Great video! You can prepend 'arch -x86_64' to any homebrew command including the installation command and it will work in x86_64 emulation mode. It's basically Rosetta 2 for terminal :)

I did some research and found out that Docker and Homebrew are available, although in Beta modes. Tensorflow has no hope. But Homebrew works like a charm

I am Civil Engineer, so all the apps including AUtoCAD 3D, LUMION, REVIT, GOOGLE SKETCH work perfectly fine. I never owned a Mac laptop. This would be my first Mac device. Should I buy this Harnoor bhai after coming to US in spring 2021?

Bhai use the inbuilt C/c++ compiler. Mac OS is Unix, it will always run C/C++ out of the box. You don't need GNU C Compiler(gcc) Just type cc from terminal

@@SinghinUSA bro VScode is just a glorified text editor. cc will definitely work. And in C/C++, projects people compile using CLI. We create a Makefile script to build larger projects. Please verify if you are able to install 'Make' program or is it available out of the box. I doubt it will come inbuilt as it comes with GNU GPL license, same reason why apple replaced Bash shell with ZSH in MacOS

Hi! There's a way to run Homebrew with the M1, just have to set your terminal to execute Rosetta and that's it. I don't have one I'm argentinian but that's what the guide I read suggested Cheers

Dont keep on zooming in and moving camera when showing something on laptop screen, people are not able to read. Also while you keep moving hand in front of camera, focus keeps on changing from laptop to hand to laptop again and again, which is very irritating. make steady frames with good focus and less movement of camera/zoom and your content will be better

Hey, Loved the video as I was confused between which one to buy. Have just one question though: you said in the earlier part of the video that it doesn't support Emulators and have to run the app on the physical device, but in the later section, when you were running the app made through Udemy, It was I guess running on the emulator? Not sure, like just confused ... Also Thanks for making such helpful and informative videos :)
