What a genius you are. I saved myself £800 and bought a used motherboard off eBay and removed my old base and attached to the the new one. I would never have been able to do this without your step-by-step guidance. Thanks so much for posting this video

I LOVE the black and white opening scenes of your vids. I would recommend blowing out the fans while you have it apart. Do not let the fans spin while blowing them out or you will burn them out. Hold fan blade with small srcrew driver or such.

I was replacing my screen and some how damaged the daughter board connector on my a1707 can I swap the daughter board from my old one? The four ribbons that go to the daughter board are the inner two the only cables or are the outer cables also?

Thanks. I was able to successfully replace the screen. The iFixIt toolkit has slightly different labels (especially the 0.8 you showed for the smallest screws) is actually p2.

Thank you for the video. I received my A1707 model as an "out of box" gift from my boss. Unfortunately, I accidentally cracked the screen. In purchasing a replacement, how can I find out the year and the screen size?

Thanks for the tutorial. Now I have a folder with a question mark. And the wifi shows "on" for a few seconds the switches to "searching for networks" and continues to bounce. I attempted to reinstall OS, and get an error. All connections are secure. Not sure what else to do

I replaced my screen but it wont turn on. I even replaced the battery and put the old screen back and it does nothing. Any suggestions? With the old one you can hear when it’s stars to charge and the caps button light on but not with the new screen

Thank you for this very clear step by a step a1707 screen replacement guide video. My screen is not broken but when I open the panel to around 70deg and beyond it goes off. Bringing it back down to close position the screen comes on. So my question is; do I need to replace the whole screen or need to open up and make sure the cables are tight?

Appreciate the content! Question, My screen just went black, before hand it was really low in display brightness then went completely black, but the bar/keyboard still lights up assuming it’s just the screen I need to replace? Or what can it be?

Have you tried hooking up an external display? That will tell you whether it's the display or the driver.

Hello. I opened the inside of my Macbook Pro 2017 Touch Bar model by carefully unscrewing the screws. First, I disconnected the battery cables and then carefully cleaned the fans by blowing them. I didn't remove the motherboard, I just cleaned it superficially. Then I turned off the macbook but the Touch Bar did not work. Even though I've been trying for days and following your advice, I couldn't get any results. Is there anyone who can help with this? Thank you.

Of course the very last wifi antenna screw stripped on me. just my luck any tips on how to remove stripped screws?

You mentioned that the “springy thing” has to be long enough. What happens when it’s not long enough ? Both the new screen and old screen seems like it’s not long enough to fit in place. Ik it’s something I’m doing wrong because the old one won’t fit back in place either

Are you talking about the lcd screen board ? Only way I can imagine is when you close the screen, you might have clipped the paper thin cable of the lcd screen board. Make sure the paper thin cable is seating on the laptop freely.

clear isntruction, however i find it amazin on how apple made it stupidly convoluted to do a simple LCD replacement, on other laptops sometimes you don't even need to open the main-board section at all, just open the lcd bezel and a few screws, 2 cables and it out
