@@gobalik many of the MacGruber settings, in the real world, would have no need for a "control room" or just would not operate that way. This sketch: would a drug lord have a control room per se? No. Example from another sketch: the monastery control room. Why would monks need a control room? Examples of things that warrant a control room: ships, power plants, some factories. @nickg2561 I also love the "cave control room" :)

@@DunmoresMovieMania Nope, I mean his sense of humor. I've been around since the dude was in Phoenix playing ball. He can be hysterical, trust me. The local T.V. schlubs never knew how to take him. Was he serious? Or, did he just say that?...If it was Barkley, you knew he was and he did. Now, is he a good actor? Probably not. It's not the easiest thing to do well and he's a former ballplayer and announcer. I suppose there are a few out there that have transitioned but none come to mind immediately. What he may lack in acting chops is quickly covered by his honest and usually direct sense of humor. There ARE a few others that have morphed well into SNL. The Manning Bros just kill it. Both of them. Payton Manning did one of the most hysterical videos ever broadcast on the show. (The pee-wee football coach,. WARNING: Do not watch that video with a full bladder.)His brother came right after and showed that same humor but with a tinge of sarcasism. Put them all in a line and Barkley gets picked every time...

If you want to talk about acting skills, the kids that were in Payton Manning's video mentioned above are good examples. They sold it perfectly begining to end. SNL manages to get really good kid actors involved in a lot of their stuff.

When Barkley goes to hand him something, he's gassed with pepper spray by the newly enlightened McGrubber... Jesus, how right for the times was that? Will Forte will go down as one of the best ever to grace that stage.

because its funny and doesn't preach or try to tell you how to feel. but some of SNL's problems stem from who they cast and who they hire as writers. until they actually try to get a well balanced cast of talent and viewpoints, its never gonna get better.
