Mach-hommy is definitely realized to some degree. The mountain itself as a symbol for realization transcends any one culture and can be found in Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, etc. In one of his songs from Pray for Haiti, he even mentions coming down the mountain, ie giving divine teachings. It's worth adding at this point that to the Sufis, culture is literally brought to this world from Eternity from divinely realized people. So the more a culture decays, the further it has strayed from its divine source. Mach serves as a great example of someone planting culture in this world, renewing Haiti, hip hop, and humanity.

I agree Mike. The point about the Sufi's is interesting to me, thanks for sharing. Although I am not a Sufi I am Iranian and know many Sufi's, some of whom appreciate Mach hommy.

Thank you, I will make a vid about him soon. He is arguably even more Hegelian than Mach and his latest album is a direct reference to the Susan Buck Morris book mentioned in this vid. Him and Mach have both referenced 'The Embarrassment of Riches' that was the Dutch slave trade. Susan Buck Morris includes several Dutch era paintings of Africans in her book, very similar to the cover of Aethipoes.
