I know it would be a lot of work, but you really ought to do a 'fundamentals of precision' series. I love seeing how you go about designing for making precision tools and parts.

This and the peel grinding video are absolute gold. The detail in the video is superb. Grinding is a hard topic to find reliable information on. I’ve been trying to glean every bit of information Robin renzetti and Stefan gottswinter give on grinding. However neither of them cover the topics quite as thoroughly as you tend to. I greatly appreciate the education.

Adam, long form content like this, full of detailed commentary, is amazingly interesting. I love the short tips and techniques videos you put out, but this, in my opinion, is your real strong suit. The construction paper illustrations, by the way, are SO clear and concise. You are a terrific instructor. Thanks as always!

I was taught early on, if you can measure it, you have a higher chance of making it, compared to if you can't measure it. Nice video.

We used to use slightly modified Boice snap ring groove gages to measure very shallow bores, but they were good to only ~+/- .0005. Hard milling is still new to me. When I see sparks coming from an end mill, I reflexively grimace. Thanks for the great video!

1) My hat is off to you. I'm just a hobby machinist who got the bug while building stuff to support my science research (now retired). As such I have met machinists who make amazing things that range from gizmos that crawl around on the ocean floor to dinguses that orbit overhead. You show the same skill and persnickityness as any of them. Bravo. 2) How in heck do you keep your shop looking like a surgical suite??

Have to say, this video has been out for over a year and I keep coming back to it just because of the incredible amount of information it gives. Most of these concepts have helped me with my own understanding and early career into Tool/Die Making and I want to say thank you very much for providing this content. I have been in the trade for 40 years and I have managed to get by without one of those tools but makes me think about it I would like to get one of those things or better make a would like to make one you give me some ideas. if you google "Pemamo hone" that is what I use. not sure I would do a video on it since its a very feel dependent process, not sure it would transfer to screen well

I've admired your work for a long time but I love the voice over: "Roughing out as much out as we can with a .6 (mm)" 😂 I watched the assembly full screen sitting at the tip of my chair. One of the best things I have seen this week and I could hardly believe that really was 10 minutes.
