This is a short video documentary produced for the Fly Like An Eagle 30th Anniversary DVD. It chronicles Steve Miller's entrance to the music scene and his success with the "Fly Like an Eagle" and "Book of Dreams" albums.

Growing up in the 70's as a teenager trying to find real meaning in life, Steve Millers music took me on a journey of inner discovery & gave me a sense of wonder about the universe............

Christ, I can’t imagine Fly Like an Eagle WITHOUT the ending beeps. It captures the whole vibe of the song perfectly. As a kid I always envisioned an empty space capsule orbiting Earth. Sometimes brilliance just falls in your lap!

My all time favorite song Fly Like an Eagle,I was 17,18 years old and guess what in 2008 I guess you could say I flew out of the darkness of being and was the Eagle no lie totally incredible talk about Freedom that is it.Always loved your music,thank you for sharing with the world.

A lot of people possibly see Steve Miller as being a bit of an arrogant kind of guy... me, I see him as a complete cool headed genius. His music has always had an easy going feel about it... great textures, melody and vocal lines. He's always had a knack for getting his sound across, pretty much perfectly every time. Steve Miller's in a class all his own.

I have a few close friends who have made it, and All of them have some sort of guarded arrogance. I remember watch an original member of his band Curley Cooke at Bad Alberts in Ballard god it must have been over 10 years ago and in walked Steve with the hottest young Blonde, All Curley said was let the girl in and card the old man...Not many in the place recognized him ...great night RIP Curley ..

Discovered Steve Miller when I was about 13 while I was going thru my brother's record collection, I was immediately hooked I'm now 55 and still love this band!

What an underrated yet HUGE talent - Fly Like An Eagle and Book of Dreams totally blew me away in my teens...and he is still delivering the goods to this day with albums like Bingo and Let Your Hair Down... What a guitarist, what a song writer...Even after all these years I hear the haunting 'Winter Time' and I am transported to another place with goosebumps all over....

He isn't under rated at all.He gets a lot of money to play. Alot.. I would guess his act at a festival brings 100 k with sound and lighting already paid for and provided. He just doesn't tour a lot anymore. Smart man..chill and enjoy life. Spend that money instead of grinding every day. Relax.

was a common drum (heart) beat going on then, that we could overcome problems thru art, music, communication....problems no worse then now but we had hope,resolve- that he captured well in numerous songs and lyrics, and helped that he was master musician

I was actually a really good documentary because the Steve Miller band was the first band I ever saw growing up as a kid and I've loved them every since. I remember in the 1980s listen to them all throughout School thinking they were one of the best bands

It has had the 5.1 treatment, matey. Ive got the 30th annviersary version and there's a DVD audio disc with the 5.1 versions ( DTS AND SURROUND), which is what this 3 part documentary is also on.

So cool he's from Milwaukee Wisconsin I'm from Madison Wisconsin. I grow up listening to his music in the 70's. This is when music was great.
