Just an FYI/update for anyone who hasn't been reading the news: Ryan Edwards destroyed the home he was sharing with Mackenzie some time in April 2023. He was sentenced to almost 1 year in prison and is currently incarcerated. If he doesn't successfully complete rehab he'll get more charges aka more prison time. Mackenzie filed for divorce in Feb 2023. I'm assuming this was filmed long before then and things only got worse after this😬

My kids' father is similar to Ryan and honestly you have to be straight shooter b/c they have SO many people who enable them and coddle them that you have to keep it real so that there are no misunderstandings.

Since Maci was a teenager, she has exhibited incredible noble character. Her parents really did a great with her and God could not have given Bentley a better parent. Thank God he has her.

Ryan was tearing up b/c he realized that Maci actually does care about him when he didn't think she did. He knows he's done her SO wrong and she's STILL willing to be there for him. Maci just gave him tough love....the kind of tough love that his own momma should've given him and it's good to see him realize and appreciate that. MOST women are not Maci...hell....I'm not Maci. She still leaves the door open between Ryan and Bentley. That is a strength that I don't think I will ever have. She has never kept Ryan from Bentley unless it was to protect Ryan AND Bentley.

Maci really created an environment for Bentley to forgive Ryan and for them to have a relationship with one another. There were times when she could've DRAGGED Ryan to Bentley but she didn't and still allowed Bentley around Jen and Larry. She goes above and beyond to coparent with Ryan and this clip seems like it's the first time he's REALLY understanding it...probably b/c he can't see his other kids whatsoever. He's finally realizing that Maci has been SO accommodating and he's taken it for granted.

I don't even think she was giving him tough love. I think she was just prioritizing the health and happiness of her son and Ryan couldn't handle that. Everyone around him has babied him since he was born.

@@kylieerynne 100%. I do think it's tough love b/c I do think that Maci cares about him when it comes to Bentley. She also cared about him BEFORE Bentley and that doesn't just go away, especially if you have a kid together. I don't think she's attracted to him romantically anymore, but she was also part of his family at one point. A lot of his aggression towards Maci is that she stopped babying him like everyone else does. She's compassionate and understands his struggle, BUT also holds him accountable for his actions (which his own parents AND Mack never did). I feel like this is the first time that HE understood that she really does get what he's going through.

I swear I am the African American Maci..my youngest daughters father is RYAN 5.0..the jail stints..the drug use...all of it and it's been 16 yrs and I still find myself being there for him. I have to. He is her father. He's NOT a bad person however he is a HORRIBLE decision maker and his associates have always been his downfall😢

@@patsnationok1373he made her pregnant when she was a child, then didn't want to take care of the kid, ridiculed her and partied for years, became a drug addict, never visited the kid, got jealous when she got a new boyfriend, argued with her about everything, annoyed her every day for years with his bullshit, never picked up the kid when it was his time so she can relax, got into fights and got arrested, was driving around on cocaine with the kid in the car, asked for money, lied, and overall fucked up her life trajectory when she was still a child

She’s always been really good about staying neutral for Bentley, even when Ryan’s issues made that more and more difficult. I’m sure it also helps that she and Taylor have what appears to be a very solid relationship. Not saying she wouldn’t care about Ryan regardless, but it’s easier to feel sympathetic for someone when you have your own life together

I think hes always loved her. I think that's why he resented her he knew what he lost but didn't wanna point fingers at himself so instead saw her as the bad guy. He wasn't ready to grow up.

I think the difference now is that she is also not looking for him to be a full and active parental/authority figure to Bentley. She is just looking for him to show up at the capacity he can now recognizing he is struggling and can really only take care of himself. Bentley is older now, so does not need the exact same things he did as a little one and is old enough to recognize his dad's limitations/struggles even if he may not always like them or he wished for a different type of father-son relationship. Hope Ryan can get better so at least he can develop a solid friendship with his son while he is still a kid/teen.

There is a lot of love here. Young love. The kind that just doesn’t work but not much else in life feels like it ever again. Always pulling for Ryan…he needs treatment and therapy and to be held accountable but he certainly can rewrite his story when he chooses

Ryan in my opinion is a great dad. Jen and Larry are great grandparents. I myself am a recovering addict. Been clean for 2562 days. Kids deserve way better but most are forgiving. God bless Ryan and family. Great to hear things are going better😊

There's this moment around the 2:18-2:20 mark where Ryan gets this look on his face. I think it hit home to him in that moment that ALLLLL those years back, he fucked up when it came to Maci. He lost a very good thing, someone who loved him with her whole heart and would have done anything to make it work. This recognition of that loss was on his face in that moment in this clip. And I think her CONTINUED offer of support and saying he could call her when he's struggling is why he got emotional.

As someone who's felt suicidal often, I can't help but tear up for Ryan. It's beautiful to see how far they've come. I think he is realizing that he's not as alone as he feels. There's people around him who want to support him.

It’s been beyond rough for these two through their journey and it’s awesome to see the two of them get to this place. It’s good for Ryan to realize that he is valued and life is a precious gift. I really believed losing Maci was a part of his addictions too … he started living his life in regret and as a man they tend to not want to live in reality and try to push things aside and eventually it gets the best of them been watching them since I was a kid

Maci is a legend, from the minute she had Bentley she has been a real mother, even while being a teenager. You can tell she has the biggest heart still caring about Ryan and his physical and mental health after how awful he's been

Awww I haven’t seen Ryan in Years. Glad they are at a better place. She’s awesome and the tears shows that he’s hurting and realizes a lot. I pray her gets the recovery he needs bc like she said better to be a pain in her butt than not be here. Bc he matters rather he knows it or not

I haven’t watched Teen Mom in a long time, but whenever these videos pop up, I always click when I see a thumbnail of Maci, Ryan or Bentley. Out of everyone in S1, I adored Maci and her strength for her son at such a young age. I was not the biggest fan of Ryan, but I truly hope he gets the help he needs. It wouldn’t be the same without him here. ❤️❤️

He’s hurtin. I’m a recovering addict clean 4+ years now. Never ever would I be here right now if I hadn’t lost absolutely everything and everyone I have ever loved in my life. If someone told me 4 years ago that I’d be clean and sober and will enjoy the hell out of life I’d have laughed in their face. I wish him the best.

I think this is the moment that he realized he really messed up with her.. that could be the reason to all of his downfalls. I think he just knew he needed her but knew she was too strong to take him back. He knew she was done .. & has never been the same since. Hopefully after this, he can let all of that go and truly focus on himself & Bentley. No matter what Bentley has always needed his dad. God bless them all ❤

Maci is such a beautiful soul, seriously. I’ve been in her situation with not 1 but 2 kids involved and it’s HARD as hell to love and care for the father of your kids and see them struggle like this. God bless her, Ryan, and of course Bentley. 💙

This is heartbreaking to watch but I’m so happy they can finally come together. Ryan is soo handsome and in the beginning in 16 and pregnant he seemed so full of life. We never know what anyone else is truly struggling with. I just pray he gets the help he needs to heal. He needs to get healthy not only for Bentley but himself and his other children. I commend him for getting the help

The maturity she has is amazing. What he put the person she loves most (Bentley) through as well as others and the fact she can still sit across from him and support him is amazing. Also proves that maybe Mack was a bigger problem than anyone really thought. Sure Ryan made choices but Mack clearly enabled and did things too. No one deserves what happened but there are a lot of victims here.

So nice to see Maci without the hatred for Ryan. I haven't watched in years but can tell this is new territory for them. Could be nostalgia talking but......I see a spark (of somethin!) here still.... looks like Maci is doing her best to keep distance and not play into their obvious chemistry.... As a side note, Ryan looks great...

I love this so much!!! I really pray that Ryan gets the help he needs and that everyone finds a way to heal and move forward. Maci and Ryan have basically grown up together since their teens and of course they will always care about one another especially having a son together. It was just really nice to see this after all these years! 🙏🩵🙏🩷
