I didn't think it was possible, but Mackie has done it. The most amazing innovation in dynamic microphone offerings ever. Seriously. No other microphone manufacturer has been able to do this. It's the AT-2020 vs. the EM99B. Check it out.

Hey man thank you so much for making this review. I purchased very recently and I am awaiting its arrival. I could not find any real reviews on it, but I know I need to upgrade my Blue Yeti. I really want a high quality sound for everything voice related that I need to do. I am blown away!! I am glad I picked the right mic for me from what it seems. Can't wait to receive it. Best, Dub

Here’s the truth it sounds great! That being said you’ve sold me on a couple of mics later that didn’t really work for me because your voice is AWESOME! You and booth junky could be national radio hosts and the whole world would listen. Thanks for the review. I may try it!

I really like your voice. To me, on my headphones, though the at2040 is muddier it's also smoother, the em-99b is more clear but is much harsher, sharp. I get fatigued by the sound pretty quickly. ❤ your videos.

You are correct! I've bought lots of different Mackie gear. Your voice is quite a bit deeper than mine, so I was prepared to return it if not a good match. Nope! Great sound. Kept it over the MV7.

Rick,..how much "Post Processing" did you do with the EM 99B when you were at the end of your video? I use the EV RE20 and I love it but would like to have just one more for overhead work and leave it attached to the Boom arm for that. I think that 99B might be a better solution than a shotgun mic that I was looking at. Thoughts? I too have a deep voice and I think that 99B allows for it to shine but also allowing for a bit of crisp to the mids so that it keeps things bright and not too deep.

I wounder, is it would be good for a voice acting mic? Rick, what is your opinion on voice acting with dynamic, like re20 for example?
@creatorsvillage
@creatorsvillage Жыл бұрын
It really depends on the mic. typically condensers are used because they provide a broader frequency response. The RE20 is a solid mic, also the Neumann BCM 705

Hey CV. Do you think a condensor mic is good for someone with excessive mouth noise/clicks? I switch from a condensor mic to the MV7. I love how my voice sounds with the MV7, and have a deep tonality similar to your voice. The issue I have is that when I try to put the mic closer to keep more of that resonance, I hear nothing but mouth clicks due to medication I take which causes severe dry mouth. I tried everything from angling the mic 45 degrees, xylitol gum, pulling coconut oil before recording but nothing works. I used iZotope's software, but not even that could remove all of the clicks. When I had my condensor mic, I did not have that issue as I didn't need to pull in the mic as close. Just wondering what your opinion is on this issue.
