They definitely got better at being villains when they had new leadership, But they were always capable of this. The power houses of the guardians were just away at the time. Not to downplay Rex, Kate, or Rae at all, But they are a lot more vulnerable compared to the rest.

It's not actually that stupid. Warships generally dont have large viewing windows as anything that is weaker than the hull risks depressurisation and compromises structural integrity. Most realistic vessels would rely on passive scans to search for incoming debris to minimise impact collisions with a ship because actively scanning for stuff like object composition would consume ridiculous amounts of unnecessary power.

@TheJerbol Yes: I think you're forgetting that active scanners generally are directional whilst passive scanners tend to be omni-directional for a reason. Scanners still need people to operate them. It's the same reason Cecil doesn't have people actively monitoring Debbie and only has passive monitoring until certain keywords are said, then they engage actively with it. It's cost efficient. It makes sense that most scanners would basically be passive until they see something super fast, like a missile or projectile, then switch to active scanning. The biggest issue with ships in space being large is less to do with moving them and more to do with slowing them down or building them in the first place (as large ships would need to be constructed in space shipyards)
