Exploring Valeda light therapy for AMD

For this My Macular and Me webinar we delve into the science behind Valeda light therapy for treating age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
In this session, we were joined by Professor Tim Jackson, consultant ophthalmic surgeon from King’s College Hospital, to explore the science behind the Valeda photobiomodulation technique. The therapy uses three wavelengths of light to stimulate the layer of cells in the back of the eye called the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), to keep them healthy for longer.
Professor Jackson also discusses the data from the LIGHTSITE III clinical trial in more detail. The small study on 100 participants, with early and intermediate dry AMD, aimed to assess the impact of the therapy on visual outcomes and early changes to the back to the eye, as well as the development of late-stage dry AMD, known as geographic atrophy (GA).

Excellent talk and we look forward to the publishing the 2 year data. This has been presented at several international meetings. The results presented were very positive. There are also many other published papers on the subject which are also most encouraging. It is exciting times for A|MD treatments with so much research underway.

I have AMD. Told after last shot no help. I have catracts. Oh you can have them removed to help light get in. So why dont eye doctors of every k8nd talk to each other. That why we who suffer cant get right treatment.
