The Beatles had a photo session here with photographer Tom Murray on July 28th, 1968 for their "Mad Day Out". The Church has believed to have existed since A.D. 314. It was known simply as St Pancras Church until - as a result of 18th and 19th century urban expansion - St Pancras New Church was built a little over half a mile away on the main Euston Road. By 1847 the Old Church was derelict, but as the local population grew it was decided to restore it. There are still traces of Norman masonry, but the building seen today is basically a Victorian structure. A replacement tower was built and the building was lengthened, though it remained quite small. There have been further restorations since, particularly in 1948 following Second World War bomb damage. The building was designated a grade II* listed building on 10 June 1954.

Went to a cousin's wedding here in Autumn 1967 when I was 7. He was pure Austin Powers Carnaby Street East End boy. She was a bit of posh form Belsize Park, spitting image of Judi Dench. Classic 'sixties stuff. 'All You Need is Love' was still in the charts.

Nice video Joe, but I would like to hear some of the history of the place! I'm from across the pond and may well never get to visit these places that fascinate me. Plus.....would love to hear your voice! Thanks for the video! 😃😃😃

Dear Joe, Thanks for posting this nice video. I have always wondered what grassy areas there were in that space between the two big railway stations. . On Google Maps, it doesn't show much. Camden Council said there was a park there with a boardwalk to view the nature from, I had never been able to see the entrance. . I go often to Caledonia Road neighbourhood and have often wished to see whether there were any nice grassy, ex-swamp areas around that general area. Just to sit quietly; is that area quite safe for the person? Let me know. . I may go this Spring to have a look-see. . Cheers. from, del-boy
