ikr. Maybe she just made too many trained "professionals" look bad. Or maybe it has to do with the "actors" playing up to critics while Tina really played well to the audience...where the money comes from.

I feel the same way. Since no one‘s asked as far as I can tell we can only speculate. It may have been she didn’t enjoy herself and if that’s true naturally she wouldn’t be interested in doing another project. Sometimes people are good at acting but unless they love it they don’t pursue it. Also we have to look at the role of auntie. It’s the kind of role that typically didn’t go to women of color at the time (Hollywood being what it is), if she was interested in projects that had three dimensional rules she really would’ve had to fight for her seat at the table I may have been disinterested in that after everything she already had to overcome; I mean look how offended people got when they learned they were going to get a black mermaid in the little mermaid reboot.

@@antmagor the list of wrongs committed by Hollywood is long indeed, but some of their contrived corrections are on that list as well. A person looking for racism will find it everywhere even in a thousand places where it doesn't exist. The right way to live is to view people as individuals and judge by the content of their character (some noteworthy person said that I think) and by their performance. I myself have encountered hundreds of people kept in or promoted to positions not based on their performance quality but based on their connections or just as often based on meeting a quota perception which includes a contrived effort to avoid appearing racist. I hope you really don't go through life looking at everything through a racist lens because that would make you part of the problem, not part of the solution.

Whoopi Goldberg should be very thankful Tina stuck to the musical stage, at least before she landed the View gig. Love her precise Martha Stewart-Esque enunciation. If I hadn't read the bio, would have credited finishing school. Actress, anchorwoman are just a few of vocations Tina would have excelled at.

She was not given the opportunities she deserved. Tina should have definitely played Storm from Marvel.

Except it was not a mullet. Mullets are cut shorter around the front and sides (exposing the ears) and a long shank of hair at the rear; think Billy Ray Cyrus at the height of his fame or even Joe Dirt. Words have meanings and we should not get confused and exposed as a fool

As a crafter (and wearer) of mail, the weight spreads out while you're wearing it, so you don't feel it as much. Sure, you'll feel it after a few hours, but it's not as bad as most people think.

I've just reached the part where she talks about this movie. She started how she would shave her hair every day and put that wig on and she actually liked the way she looked with no hair.

Well, have you seen her legs? She could take the weight easily...

She was average, at best. She overacted the part, probably because she has limited acting talent , as evidenced by the fact that she has barely appeared in anything other than this movie

Her character was way more compelling than Furiosa.

Tina Turner was an unbelievably amazing woman. She was extremely talented and well spoken. Tina performed in front audiences all over the world. One of the greatest entertainers of our lifetime.

I totally agree. It's a good film and I don't understated the hate it gets. A bunch of epic elements. I am probably biased though. I saw it as a kid and even had the soundtrack on cassette tape. I also saw Return of the Jedi in the theaters and like Ewoks.

@@tonymin1555 I saw The Road Warrior in the theater and Mad Max BT in a theater with an upper level and probably the closest thing to surround sound at that time. It was an amazing experience. I hope I live long enough to see someone reboot MM3 and actually do it justice.

The first half of the movie was brilliant. The second half was Gawd awful. The kids in their little utopian oasis. I just cant. Not to mention the film committed the worst sin you can make in a movie, killing off a primary character in between movies. Who you say? The Gyro Captain. You cant bring back a character and transform into something completely all together different.

Say what you want about Mel as a person, but he's one of the best actors of his generation.

It was his last weapon since he surrendered the rest to the guard and had nothing left.
