Very beggining of Road Warrior after the intro. Introduction of Max and mighty Wez. One of the best openning sequences ever. Starring Mel Gibson as Max and Vernon Wells as Wez. Directed by George Miller. Cinematography by Dean Semler.

I did some research. The car that has been chasing Max, and that he rear-ended with his Falcon is an Aussie Ford Landau. It was wearing a '57 Buick front bumper, and a '59 Pontiac rear bumper. Later in this movie, it was sitting in front of that settler's compound.

Notice how he cut the sleeve off his jacket when Bubba Zanetti ran over his arm? Apparently that was Mel Gibson's idea when they started this picture. I loved Fury Road, but it shoulda had Mel in the film. After Dragged Across Concrete I know he is still one of the best actors around. It's a shame they all went after him like that. Yeah this and that happened but those recordings where between him and his C..t lounge singer russkie. Imo Maybe They'll make one last film and it can be like Young Guns 2 with an elderly Max who has final confrontation with an villain/gang from his past. That he encounters again. They can flash back and have Tom Hardy play his younger self. It won't happen but it would be great.

This originally was a longer sequence with Max disturbing the Baddies as they were ransacking a farm and stealing fuel from the vehicles (they had hanged the occupants from a tree branch). They too off in pursuit when they saw him and he hit the turbo. Through a couple of cuts we see the pursuers go from 10 to 5 to 3 as only the most powerful vehicles can keep up. This also explains why he ran out of gas so quickly and why he is able to keep going once he's pilfered the tanks of the wrecked cars

The oil won't run out. Oil is not what you think it is. It is not decayed bio-matter, it is produced in the part of the earth between the mantle and the crust and is constantly being renewed. There have been examples of dying wells suddenly rejuvenating themselves with new oil and the geological age of the new oil is much younger than the oil that was there originally so it doesn't take millions of years to form like the oil companies want us to believe. There are also new deposits of oil being discovered in places that had none when they were surveyed previously. Where is this new oil coming from? If a place was surveyed 40 years ago and no oil was found and now suddenly there's oil there, how can it take millions of years to form? Where is the younger oil flowing into the old wells coming from? Oil is not a finite resource.

gamewizard "Oil is not a finite resource." Oh yes it is. Whoever tells you otherwise is a nutjob. Seeing as you seem to believe that it's some oil company conspiracy you certainly qualify as one. @ gamewizard it is biomatter. Living things are the only things that can make hydrocarbons. That’s why when you learn about oil and refining it’s literally called organic chemistry. And it will run out because of our socio economic system which requires more and more people using more and more oil. But it won’t be like this... stocks in renewables will jump and we will transition relatively painlessly.

The evolution of Electric Cars are on the rise, and slowly but surely getting better... Give it a couple more decades or so and we will see everything that only a big block muscle engine can do can be also accomplish by all electric engine technology... Personally though, I prefer traditional, raw-powered, petro--fueled machines over Electric... Can you imagine Max racing against desert marauders in electric vehicles? Not post-Apocalyptic gritty and thrilling as much.
