Nice video i remember when you first got them and you wanted to keep them nice and shiny the show reminds me of the instincts from scarpa but the only thing what is a put off for me is the 3D heal which is the part what sticks out which is concerning for delicate move were you need to be quiet precise with the heal rolling off

I love these shoes, you have to size them properly tight because they stretched about half a size for me

Watch better climber. You can pick up so many tips by seeing someone with great technique.

Great video matt (and sweet send in there too!!) how did you size them, and was there a knarly break in period like a lot of other aggressive bouldering shoes?

So those are a UK 8, Im a UK9. They initially felt a bit odd, but only because of the narrower design. I had no real break in period, they just feel great.

Hey Matt! What size are you wearing and what is your street size. I found that I had to actually upsize significantly from my street size to even get my foot into the shoe.

I'm a UK 9 and they are UK 8. The fit is tight though, but I prefer that in a bouldering shoe.

I wish they would fit my feet because they do seem pretty decent, but they're way too narrow for my feet. Couldn't squeeze my feet in them even with a stick of butter. Wish they would also come out with a wider version (and I kind of want this from every manufacturer).

Try the Butora Acro. They look very similar to the Drone and come in two versions narrow and wide.

Matt Groom I always find I'm toe hooking more often than not in bouldering so a big rubber bit for that is bang on for me.

I ordered some drones and they came defective there's a big bubble in the front of the toebox and madrock says they can't do anything for me and i quote "Thanks for getting the photos over! I was able to see the bump you mentioned on the right shoe. But I want to mention that no two shoes will look the same, especially in the front toe area. Each shoe is made by hand then the rubber is grinded down." That doesn't mean that the shoe should come with a giant ass bubble and then get told i can't get a new pair i haven't even climbed in them yet... so sad :( what terrible customer service...

@@mattgroom5179 I havent got to climb in them yet. Comfort wise when I put them on I can tell they're going to be a good shoe. I'm just concerned about the response from the their support. Considering they acknowledge that you can see the bubble and defect in the picture and refuse to help sucks. It's a brand new shoe I feel like they should honor their product, I still have the tag on them too. Thank you for your response and hope your safe during the virus.

@Matt Groom Just an update because I'm an honest person after some more emails and the few youtube comments I left of my experience. They're going to be giving me a shipping label to send my shoes back in exchange for a new pair. While it was very frustrating at first considering it was defective before i've got to climb in them, I'm happy to say that they do care and stand behind their product and have changed their minds about doing the exchange. I'm really excited to climb in them because when i put them on they have a lot of comfort for how aggressive the shoe feels. I feel this will be a great all day aggressive shoe for me personally.
