So... a 5-star recruit, ranked #1 in the country, stayed in college for FOUR years? Nope. Also, I didn't beat him out as a freshman? Nope. How about they make you a solid, oh.. 3-star recruit, so you had to work your way up the depth chart behind, say, a star veteran *and* a solid upperclassman - he's a JR when you're a freshman... so, year 1 it's: Starter: JR, All-American, top-10 projected pick ; Backup: solid JR; 3rd string: you And you expect to be the backup in year 2, and have a legit chance to earn the starter's role as an upperclassman (2 years if you stay for both). But some star transfers between your SO and JR year, so your JR year you don't get a fair chance to compete... but he gets injured in the final game of the season, clearing the way for you to play in the playoffs, finally, in year 3. Or perhaps better: the #1 ranked recruit comes in and competes with a veteran upperclassman (JR), with you in line to be 3rd string as a solid 3-star recruit (you could've gone to a non top-25 school and started, but you wanted to compete for a championship; sets it up properly for Madden, obviously). Doesn't matter if the star wins out or not, but you are buried on the depth chart in year 1 and 2, behind star recruit and vet JR in year 1, then star SO All-American and vet SR in year 2, then you finally are the backup in year 3 after vet SR graduates (and is drafted in the late rounds?), behind star JR, who leaves after year 3 to go pro, leaving the job to you in your SR year... but a star transfers, and because he has 2 or 3 years of eligibility left, and you're a SR, your coach does you dirty (like what happened to Brady), and you don't get a fair chance to compete. But transfer gets injured in the final game of the regular season, and you *finally* get the chance to play. You get 2 playoff games (if you win), then the SR Bowl, combine, and are drafted. I actually don't know if you have to be a QB or if you can play any position; I assume QB only? Depending on how you play, should be able to get up to 2nd round, I'd think, but no chance at 1st (only played 2 games, no way, no matter how well you played). It would be fucking *great* if you got to do some GM stuff (I appreciate that it's not realistic, but bad decisions by your GM make Be A Player modes unplayable, they need to give you some ability, IMO), maybe let you decide what team you're going to? Either way, it'd be awesome if they gave you some drafting control. Perhaps, depending on how well you played, you could get drafted as high as the 2nd round... but you could decline that option and drop your player down anywhere from 2-7. You can't be over-drafted, I mean, the game puts a cap on how high you go based on performance, but you can drop down at the cost of your OVR rating (potential is 99 no matter what, but starting OVR is, say: round 2: 78 round 3: 74 round 4: 72 round 5: 68 round 6: 64 round 7: 60 Something like that. So why would you choose to drop? Because then your team gets to use that 2nd on a different player. If you think you can kill it despite starting at a 72, for instance, then now you get a 2nd and 3rd round player at a different position to help your team win games. Maybe you don't choose who the team picks, but you get to choose the position. So, let's say you are going to a well-balanced team, and you trust in your ability to spread the ball with a well-balanced attack. Let's say you go with a DT in the 1st round (just a stud who can collapse the pocket and stuff the run, making your job easier by putting you in a better position to win by giving you a larger margin for error), a LT in round 2 to keep you clean (perhaps you can kick him inside and really maximize his OVR, depending on what your team already has at OL), then a TE at 3 to block and catch; not a star, but a good blocker who can be a nice safety blanket. Then a WR in round 5, a special teams ace you can develop some chemistry with, and can push his way into the starting lineup as a slot WR by year 3. It'd be awesome to have the ability to shape your team like that. Maybe they just have a few archetypes at each draft slot, 3 or 4 guys that you can choose from (kind of like how Blitz the League did it, although in every round, and with more variety, rather than just 1st round offense and big-name FA on defense). And if you're a QB... I'd say maybe that's the one draft slot you don't have a choice, the WR I mentioned. Seems like the game is setting it up so you have a star WR in college; well, I'd make him a star HB, and you get to create your #1 WR (big body target, shifty slot guy, w/e). And then you're "stuck" drafting him in round 5, so the game gives you a guy you can develop a rapport with (although it takes him until year 3 to be a starter, so they don't make it over-powered), and he's exactly the type of WR you prefer, so it's really fun.

I wish the College part is more in depth or that NCAA games were back
