You don’t exactly expect EA’s annual Madden NFL franchise to make too many changes from year to year - that has, after all, not been the status quo in the slightest - though we do get an accumulation of a number of smaller changes and improvements with each game (though not all of them work out).
The upcoming Madden NFL 24 is also promising to be an iterative upgrade over its predecessors rather than something much more radical, and though it remains to be seen how much of an improvement it turns out to be, it’s certainly promising a number of upgrades across the board, from the on-field action to the modes on offer and more. Ahead of the game’s launch, here, we’re going to take a look at a few key details that you should know about it.

Animations are the entire issue. Everything is animation driven, and not driven by real-time interactions. You get whatever animation it feels like giving you, and that’s what happens. You have zero control over this.

The old games also ran off animations. Every game is animations the difference is how they are used and designed.

@@nolandeaton1355 Well obviously they’re just all code, so it’s all animated, BUT the old games weren’t ALL pre-canned animations like the past 10-11 games have been, where it’s 100% all depending on what animation the game “decides” to give you, and what player you have, what angle you take, what situation you’re in, and move you’re attempting to do are all meaningless, because the CPU “decides” the animation, regardless of what the input is from the player. This is why you have players arms morphing through another players bodies to catch a ball, why you have a player slow down for no reason, why you have balls go right through players chests, and you get predetermined picks & blocked kicks. It’s the CPU forcing the pre-canned animations to happen.

I’m an NFL fan and I like video games, but Madden 22 was sort of unplayable at release due to bugs. Most of those bugs were never fixed. I’ve given up on Madden. It’s a shame they have bought the monopoly on NFL simulator games.

1. You need to know that on PC, Madden 24 uses 100% of your CPU and around 20% of your GPU. The game is entirely unoptimized and EA does not care and will blame you for its incompetence.

Let's be honest, all the major sports games should only come out once every other year or so. Charging us $60-$100 for updated rosters, and minor graphics changes, is ridiculous. Give the developers time to give us, "the consumers", something to really look forward to having. Enjoying the product vs something we buy because we love the sport and don't wanna be left out.

Madden is one of the deepest games of all time and still is. If you've never bought the game, then you will be amazed. However, next year when you purchase and load up you will be disappointed that it is the very same game with very few changes. You'll feel shafted for buying into all the hype in which they create to pull in virgins just like you. Then, thats when you realize why everyone is so upset with EA and swears to never buy it again. Or they say that. I've said that and still continue to buy. With that said I feel EA is still somewhat trying. They may have a disconnect within the company or split goals or something. Idk for sure whats going on up there, but they've slowly added several sliders to the game over the years because they can't create the game within a years time. Even with all the money they make. And there's still some bugs and UI issues that are beyond any excuse. And I'll still buy it for the love of Football because I'm forced to. Can't help it. And they know this and have successfully claimed all the rights to a full monopoly. Hope this helps. Do some research first, I mean look what it turns everyone into with all of us typing on the internet. Lol Homo-Sapien Technology. Get outta here.

@@00_Jones I’ve been playing a 10 hour free trial of the game so far with ea play i decided to spend 5 to try it out before spending the full 70, its safe to say you’re right I am amazed last time I played a madden game was 17, i didnt own it but i played a game with my cousin and got smoked since i didnt know what i was doing lol. But im familiar with how sports games go, ive practically bought every years FIFA game from 10-18 then took a short break from buying them until 21 but even with the break i decided to get on 2k, which to be honest it seems like my most favorite sport games are always the 1st one i ever buy except fifa because ive played it for so long where renovation was constant up until 17+ where i did notice its the same copy paste. So I have no doubts that eventually that cycle may kick in with Madden but ive been trying to get into football for a good amount of time. As crazy as it sounds what mainly gets me hooked is the numbers, see me stack up on passing yards and rushing yards is amazing i have this love for numbers which is weird. The main thing thats making me hesitate on purchase is over the fact that i know how the bs goes with sport games 1st year titles or 1st time playing titles often result in the favorites because they’re simply refreshing due to never experiencing it before. Thats currently where im at. Ive been loving the 10 hour trial, but still hesitant because i don’t wanna regret the purchase, and if i am i rather invest that cash instead. I appreciate your respond it indeed did help!

the new madden is hot feces... pure garbage, the older madden was WAYYYY better. In the new madden i can not throw the pass down field the WR just watches him EVERYTIME . So i have been stuck on practise mode for a year and a half... Just throwing interceptions for a FING YEAR. So i am going to buy a controller for ps2 and go back to that madden. DO NOT WAISTE YOUR MONEY....BURN YOUR MONEY in a fire instead, you will feel more rewarded..

The "music" is as shit as ever. Easy to find it on the menu bar and switch it all off though. The game plays pretty well. Feels slower than last year which may well be due to the lower starting stats of the players at the beginning.

The changes are nice but they HAVE to address the bugs this year. So far the previous maddens have been ruined by Superstar mode being stuck on easy Practices not letting you earn gold Cut scenes not letting you skip…etc If they actually release something polished then I’ll be happy.

thats what I did after buying the game every year from the very start and now 48 years old and tired of roster updates and glitches. I wish you guys goodluck as we all just want a great game and I hope it lives up to it but I doubt it... EA was so awesome when I was a kid/teenager.
