My son is 21 now. He is away at Uni and I phone him most nights to make sure he is ok, and he comes home most weekends. I have never left him alone, even as a teenager. When he was 11 and we were on holiday and having a drink downstairs in the hotel, he was tired and wanted to go to bed. He wanted to go up to the room on his own. No way, I said. I think it's clear the parents didn't do it. If they killed their child, why would they put sooo much effort in to trying to find her. Well, I'm Irish and no, our police force is far from perfect and our judicial system is probably worse (totally on side of perpetrator). However, that is not the point - we are discussing Madeline McCann and the disgraceful way her parents were treated. We will have to agree to disagree. I'm not a psychologist but I think if the McCanns were guilty, then Hollywood should present them with Academy awards if they are convicted. After all the media exposure, the interviews, etc, their story hasn't changed and neither of them have broken or said something inappropriate.
