Sia explained the Elastic Heart video as the cage representing the mind, Maddie the inner child and Shia the troubled adult part of the mind. It would make a lot more sense if people knew that.

HLB Then it would make more sense if the person's mind who was being represented was shown with an adult and child of the same gender. It obviously will confuse people when they're two different genders to show one mind.
