Great hand grinder skill there, most just use the arms. You pivot at hip. I do the same when freehanding lines to keep them straight.

When the diesel burns off it burns the oxygen inside the chain making for a better forge weld... basically the same principle as flux

Nice craft but dude please dont use "damascus steel" describing your work. Knowledge of producing damascus steel has been lost in time and no person in the world can produce it
