honestly... queen shit. She’s quick, she’s precise, no self-complacency. A professional with some very precious tips. I wished i could have watched this video when i began producing but I still discovered a LOT about new ways i could manage my workflow. This time Ableton, this was top tier content. Tip: To deactivate a midi note or a selection of midi notes, on the piano role just click on the piano roll key (C# for example) on the line of the midi note(s) and press the '0' key. To re-introduce, do the same thing. A small time saver for anyone who didn't know. Loving this series by the way!

Ableton is just smashing the competition. Between Germany and Japan I would say some of the worlds best thought out tech. They both just keep improving there already existing work and listening too there consumers.

A really inspiring tutorial thank you. Love the workflow. Love the technique. Especially love the idea of using voice to midi for the bass line. Would never have even considered that and especially useful for those of us that are musically challenged but who can sing a tune. Love love love. Audio to MIDI is great. Now do the other half: “Audio to Instrument” or “Extract Timbre”. Live analyzes an audio clip and creates a new Instrument Rack on a new MIDI track using stock instruments and effects that recreates the timbre of the clip.

🤔... I admit,.. I've not been upped to 10 Suite for that many weeks yet so you had me going for a sec. Meanwhile, I was dreaming all the nice multi-sample inst I was about to get onto with such resynthesis. Some additive and WT synths get convincingly close w some extra tweaking

❤"Convert harmony to new midi track" is pure genius. I didn't know this feature. There are some great ideas here. Chopping up the vocal was excellent but the style of the vocal and the lyrics were not my taste. I'll gladly learn from any style what not to do as well as what I can use

Thank you so much. This is a solid primer to some sounds I've been achieving to get the wrong way. I'm starting to love Ableton and think I will abandon my Native Instruments/Live combined workflow. Undecided as of yet as Maschine with Komplete standard adds a lot.

Great video! One thing though, are you sure that when you do your voice to bass conversion, that the waves auto tune actually is affecting the result? Doesn't the conversion just take the original audio (pre-FX, i.e. pre tuning it)?

I really enjoyed this video Anna, and I really appreciate you showing the thought that went into building your song. While I don't use Ableton, these ideas are really interesting, and I must admit I never heard of the term 'pop-noir'. ;-) Maybe this be would be the same as that 80s music 'New Wave'? Listening again, I believe this song could have benefited from a little more breathing space in the form of pauses in the rhythm,. If 'noir' is what you're looking for: the melancholy comes from the lyrics. Great examples of this from the 80s are Propaganda and Talk Talk. ;-)

Those are favourites. If you look at the top left hand corner you can see that Favourites is highlighted. This means that only samples / instruments / etc previously tagged with the red favourites dot are currently showing.
