Hey, Dane, I'm one of those weirdos who actually uses Fender strings!😎 I use a number of their Bullets on certain of my guitars. The non-traditional ends of these strings work very well in many contexts, even to axes with stopbar tailpieces. I would say not to mount any of these strings before you get your setup really dialed in -- they cost. Worth it, but don't waste 'em.

I think that pick guard goes good with the red. Great video.

I would definitely recommend changing the knobs, they will interfere with the tremolo bar.

It's missing the Dowell holes. Good parst and neck. I've got a Squier standard stratocaster neck with a Fender body and original pickups. Has the serial number and I saw the original guitar from when the guy before me had bought it from Swetwater. Was a 50s vintage strat. Now it's got a reverse headstock, rosewood fretboard and upgraded wiring and capacitors with with vintage tone bleed and vintage 001 capacitor. It's as good as it gets for this cheap ol boy.(yours also has upgraded pots and switch with a volume audio taper I think)

Made in Japan does have the off set screws on the back plate like the Squier Strats!

Just checked the back plate on my '70's Stratocaster. The middle holes were off set.

it has the worm route in the bridge pickup cavity its japan body...

USA strats have the offset holes on the back.

Dane, the body is mij. My 87 mij Squier has the offset screw holes on the back panel and the black gasket for the neck plate. Mine has “red” stamped in the neck pocket. Does yours?

i think the body, what ever brand it is has been repainted with enamel and it blead on the neck over spray. guitar has definitley been monkeyed with big time but it is what it is. you do a great job on these setups and modifications. great guitar for someone for sure. only thing i dont like is having to take the neck off to adjust neck
