Love this video. My wife and I were the MGNOC Arkansas State Reps for 23 years here in the USA. I recently sold my last Guzzi. My 74 V7 Sport. God gave me 40 years on Guzzi's. I have truly enjoyed these bikes and all of the friends I met along the way! Long Live the Moto Guzzi!

Moto Guzzi *** NUMBER ONE *** There is nothing like Guzzi. No BMW, no Harley, no Japanese motorcycles. The Soul of a Moto Guzzi is pure and crazy like no other. Great Guzzi, beautiful Italy.

He's right you know I was a BMW bike mechanic for several years although I was raised on Japanese bikes ; the beemers were 'quaint', but didn't handle, launch or have the reliability of the big 4. Then I got a job at a Vintage bike shop, which also did Guzzi's. My first ride was a 1969 V7 that I'd tuned up, and I was terrified to test-ride this crusty old rickety thing, drums front & rear, in the big city where the shop was. It rode better than any beemer I'd even ridden, I couldn't believe how nice, how easy to drive, and I didn't want to return to the shop. I don't even care for big twins. Every V7 or El dorado I rode was the same story. And 10 times easier to work on too. These older Guzzis are just sex on butter. Ridden a dozen harleys and they don't come close either.

"Sex on butter" .My years of learning at English haven't prepare me for that😁 Joking aside, following my BMW K 100 RT of 1985, is the Moto Guzzi Vintage...The pleasure and the streamline of the 1400, without the weight..

I have a 72’ Eldo Civilian and a 74’ Eldo Police… and I know exactly what you’re talking about… these old machines have the ability to move your soul while effortlessly carving graceful turns along the journey of life. My Guzzi transports me to a Zen-like state of mind where I’m virtually one with the bike, at peace, in the moment, like an eagle flying majestically through time and space.

What a good video. This man loves his bike. The way he tries to get across the feeling of the engine on start-up.... He has it spot on. It is impossible to describe but quite intoxicating. I've never ridden a "pre-Tonti" Guzzi, but what he says is true of the T-3, the V1000 and all bigger Guzzis. The V50 and V65 have the same lop-sided, lolloping tickover, but it is a less visceral thing. Still lovely, but not quite as moving. Great video. Sublime motorcycle.

Good video ! Beautiful restoration ! I'm another fan-boy-(grandpa)... I have modern bikes with superb reliability and brakes that work even when wet...bikes with no rust, and instruments that function. However, my go-to motorcycle of choice, the one that I feel so good riding, that has feel and the sound is the 1973 Eldorado.

My bike was so close to that, only a 73 with white fenders. It was such a nice bike to ride. It seemed to like a little moisture in the air and to cruse at about 80 mph. I was so proud of it, it seemed to command respect. It had been a CHIPS bike. I bought it in 1980 and I still miss it.

Young officers embraced the ElDorado. They also said the older guys would ride a Harley no matter how bad they were. One officer said the vibration of the Harley would shake your feet right off the floorboards. And they are huge.

I had one ready to buy in a shop in northern New York state. When I showed up, the dealer had sold the damn lights off the bike. It was completely equipped; it even had a radio and twin sirens. I really, really wanted that bike. I ended up with a Honda 450 "Black Bomber" that I kinda wanted....and sold the next year. It's starter shaft was twisted.

I'm looking for a Guzzi to restore and put a sidecar on. Sidecars have become a sickness for me lol. I found an antique Soviet Union military Dnepr sidecar motorcycle with just 194 Km that had sat in a barn 27 years. It was imported (to the USA) from Ukraine the year after the collapse of the Soviet Union. I had to take it completely apart and reassemble it properly replacing some part's and making some parts I could make on my lathe and mill that are better than original part's. It's now a good reliable motorcycle, which started my sickness. I also restored a Velorex sidecar and put it on my Honda Shadow. People really want that bike bad so when I find and restore a Moto Guzzi it's getting an old Ural sidecar and frame. That's when I'll allow someone to buy my Shadow and it's sidecar.

What has always puzzled me is why Guzzi has never bothered to set up a decent dealer network in the USA. That has been the obstacle for those considering buying one. The magazine reviews have raved. Then you try to find a place to buy one. And you think about what you would do if you were traveling and your Guzzi broke down.

We had these as police bikes in Denver in the 70's. These were maintenance laden pieces of crap. I can't believe this company is still in business. The Kawasaki 1000cc were the best motorcycles we ever found. Maintenance free and fast, fast, fast. When we had Harleys most speeders got away because of high speed wobble. (Tank slapper). Haven't seen one of these in the United States forever.

Rubbish, Ponch. I've had a '71 Ambassador since '89, it gets ridden - some years daily - and maintenance is no big deal. It gets an oil change when I feel like it. Only annoyances are the points closing up on you every now and then, and the dodgy "replica" light switch - when the original wears out, the made-in-India thing you have to buy now is a piece of crap. Everything mechanical is readily available as well. Yeah, the Kwaka 900 was fast, reliable and deadly if pushed.
