she was definitely in chest for the middle section and mixing/in head for the beginning and end, but i agree that it could’ve sounded much fuller. her placement was a bit strange and very far back instead of forward and nasal, which would’ve made her have more of a pop sound

@Adelaide Webb I think she thought she was better than the actress they hired or at least was proud of her audition and wanted the Internet to rally behind it to let them know what a missed opportunity they had. Versus "I didn't get the part." The unknown actress they found was perfect though.

If only gay actors could take on gay roles then that would mean that they wouldn’t me allowed to take on straight roles (idk if this makes sense lmao), but I really do love the representation!!

That said I do think representation is important and we need a lot more lgbtq actors!!

Then it wouldn’t matter...this is the reason so many actors are closeted, because they are scared of how it will affect their career and how the world with see them differently, people instantly label them as a “gay actor “

Yes it is the job of actors to emulate the lives of others, but that doesn't make it appropriate to cast privaledged groups over minoritities in roles about about discrimination affecting minority groups.

She doesn’t have a bad voice at all, but she’s definitely not a professional singer. She could have a good voice for pop (especially since original songs could be more easily tailored to her voice) and she has potential for musical theatre, but yeah she’s definitely not at the level needed for a role like this

But that’s the point, it IS a musical and she didn’t get the part bcuz she wasn’t good enough for the role, that’s show-business

@@josilyn5419 There is nothing to be ashamed of if you don`t get cast. Why do people see that as a failure. It doesn`t mean that you are bad. Sometimes it is just the type. Or in this case probably her singing voice, which is also ok, because she is not a singer. I am very happy that I had the chance to watch it, because I think she did really great and I am impressed, because I only saw her in Riverdale once and that was terrible.

I'm wondering the same thing. I know the original writers wrote the screenplay. So they could keep the scenes the same but a little different because they have to adapt for film. because there are always differences between two different types of media.
