As a book reader I am still at a loss. Influential can be supportive or malignant. She could be referring to either. But I tend to lean towards one direction, considering that she mentions her entire story line here.

@@fardareismai4495 that is one option. The other would be a person who doesn't handle the quarterstaff quite as effectively as someone else - or rather, sword vs staff. But the way she describes it, I think, you are right.

I have no idea whom she was referring to...nor whom other people are referencing in replies to this comment. It is someone introduced in season 2 that LATER influences her...Ah, I am thinking a certain Far Dareis Mai that can channel.?

I'm actually torn between two people because she said "later in the series". My knee-jerk was big book 2 spoiler territory, but then it started to sound like one of the major protagonists whose role only starts growing in book 4... hmmm Maybe I over-read into it and it's the knee-jerk, but "later in the series" made that make no sense to me

A lot of times people from the UK/Australia use the term “series” where Americans may use the word “season” so it could likely still be about S2

I loved the cast in season 1 but... It was so inconsistent... for a book reader especially. But man, they really stuck the landing on season 2! The quality was there from the start and it kept winning me over... more and more. Some crazy good acting too! Both these ladies were phenomenal! Super excited to see what happens next!

I´ve noticed an absence of braid tugging from Nynaeve so far in the show and promos from S2. She seems to be keeping her hands along her side when she is pressed or uncomfortable. Is she doing that keep herself from tugging her braid? I´m not sure whats going on here. Has she tugged her braid even once?

It's funny in the books, but there's a ton of stuff that wouldn't translate to screen very well.

I loved the books-they were great. I’m starting a reread. I’m gonna be honest, braid tugging is not even close to a hill I’d die on.

I’m pretty sure that it could be made to work on screen once in a while though. Don’t get me wrong I’m super psyched for S2. All the promos look awesome. I’d just love to see her tug her braid. She is my favorite character in the books.
