I left home at 18 too but managed well because my parents have had shown the ways without saying or teaching me specifically. I was pampered but not spoiled. So I just picked up the ways , the way my parents did. Kid learns from observing parents and don’t underestimate kids. If you have set the rules and limits at young age, kid knows what to choose. My friends used to drink a lot and spend a lot on drinks, smoking and junk food but I never did because my dad never did smoke or drink or wasted on junk parties.

Well, because it has its heart in place❤️ The video gives us a striking reflection the amazing parents you both are. That said, I don’t mean other parents aren’t as amazing as you. What I mean is, in sensibilities, the worries , the things you worry for on Arin’s going abroad, are sheerly simplistic. It comes as a refresher to see an A lister Bollywood couple coming out and talking about their worries and concerns for their teenage kid on his going abroad. If desired, what can he not get abroad? Yet, the idea behind holding back provisioning an extraordinary leisure of a said ‘credit card’ , touched my heart. This is absolutely the correct way of nurturing a child. It was hard for me when I had to leave my son at the college, I cried all the way back home. But u know what? After they finish college they become a man for themselves. The concern and sadness seen on Madhuriji's face is what motherhood is all about. Dr. Nene was very 'clinical' in his elaboration of what the life will be for their son, the choices he will need to make, the resources he will need to manage, etc.. Dr. Nene is extremely eloquent, I must say, and Madhuriji is, well, Madhuriji. There can never be another one like her in a billion, trillion, gazillion years.

I live in Canada and I have to send my older two daughters off one is going to last school and one is going to veterinary school and it’s the hardest thing I will ever have to do. It’s comforting to know that other parents go through the same thing and you had some good suggestions for sure

Hello, I watched your video for the first time and I loved this episode. I have a son who’s spreading his wings as well and off to college this August as a freshman. He is super happy and excited about his choice. It’s good listening to Dr. Nene because I agree with a lot of things that he has said. I sort off say the same things to my son as well. Of course as a mom, I have the same concerns as Madhuri. I totally agree that we as parents have had 18 years to instill good core values and mould them into great young adults. At the end of the day they will carve a path for themselves.

Loved your conversation today. My late father used to say the same, dont use a credit card and certainly don't try and buy anything if the cash isn't in your account. Valuable advice that has stuck with me throughout my life and now I say the same to my 13 year old daughter.

Hi to both of you I know about how sheltered our children are I’m from Trinidad 🇹🇹 in the Caribbean I’m of East Indian race I remember the values and teachings we got from our parents and grandparents and passed them to our children they make us as parents feel very proud all the best to your son stay safe.

My daughter asked me how to do laundry when she started college. Now she is done college and totally independent. Not to worry, he will be fine.

I am also a mother of two boys and dont think it at all as big deal as how they learn to grow in otherwise the safest place that is US..when compared to those kids who are opting defense services as their profession at this young age because of whom we are feeling safe and able to sit and talk all these things in our dining spaces..which otherwise we take it for granted..my salute to all those kids and their parents..JAI HIND🙏🙏🙏🙏
