Welcome to my hometown. I spent most of my childhood doing everything I could to get out of Wisconsin. When I was 16 I had saved up enough money to buy my first plane ticket out to LA and I literally never looked back, until I wrote this song...

I’m lucky I grew up in place like Wisconsin with so much nature and life around me, I had 2 amazing parents who always encouraged me to be creative, and I’m lucky that I’ve always known I wanted to do music. Now I can look back and be proud I made it here but also proud of all the ways growing up in Wisconsin shaped me.

I grew up in Minnesota which is a neighboring state I’ve been in Wisconsin a couple times and even though I live in Minnesota I have been too Wisconsin many times and totally relate I love the nostalgia

Forget the covers. This is what this woman should be singing. Her own songs with heart in them. The song, lyrics and music, match her voice perfectly. Like many others I'm sure, I found out about her on AGT recently. I definitely want to hear more of this from her. It reaches deeper than just the ears.

I also remember Simon telling Jennifer Hudson upon her early exit from American Idol that she would have an outstanding career. She proved him right with 2 Grammys and an Oscar.

Your hometown will never leave you. My dad and his family were born in Wisconsin. He left when he was 21 i believe, and he's 62 now. We still go up to visit every summer and Christmas. Always gotta visit the church, the pier+lighthouse, drive by the old house, the bluff, the neighbors and family that are still there, walk down the main street, the schools. ya know. And i'd listen to the stories i've heard a million times~ By now he's lived more of his life in Florida than Wisconsin, but Wisconsin is still "home" Wisconsin is beautiful.

I'm also from Wisconsin, but I've been living in Japan for the past 5 and a half years, and I haven't been back home in almost 3... This made me cry. I miss my hometown so much! ❤️😭

I'm from Chicago. Have lived all over, Minneapolis, Arizona, Michigan, Milwaukee, etc. Moved to Wisco Disco years ago. Funny how some people from here leave, but I keep coming back. I'm now raising my family here. Chicago will always have a place in my heart, but the Country>City. Hands down.

My dad was the superintendent in Boyceville from 97-06. I was in college at the time, I’d go back and visit a lot. I love that area. I fell in love with the woman that would be my first wife. We didn’t make it because we were young and didn’t know what we wanted because we didn’t know ourselves. A lot changed since then. I’ve been very happy with the love of my life the last seven years. I will most likely be moving away from Wisconsin soon after 32 years of my 42 on earth. From a fellow small town kid, heading to a bigger area then I ever dreamed. Thank you for this song from the bottom of my heart.
