Thank you for another nice excursion! The countryside, former shore, and military ruins of Freiston are very cool, and the ancient church with its magnificent baptismal font is impressive. I'm envious of your cool weather as summer heat has come early to central Texas :( Looking forward to your next vid!

Brilliant work Sean, i grew up in Freiston spending 18 years there. I might be wrong, but i always assumed the spittle hill was at the top of Foxhole lane (a single track that leads off butterwick road). The lane always had a erie feel about it. There is also a tunnel leading from the church to the old priory.

Blimey, that Freiston really has some history to it, funny to think that old ruined hotel would have once been a hive of activity, pity it went to ruin. Thankyou for another amazing film, seriously interesting scenery and stories twinned well together. Have you tried or been to the stretch of track, now a foot/cycle path between Skellingthorpe and Fledborough viaduct Sean, there is an old church or two near to the viaduct. Got to be some history you can learn there and some folk tales. I cycle it regularly its a nice stretch.

This brings nice memories for Dawn and I, as she was a volunteer here and I was a warden at RSPB titchwell. She came over for a days volunteering at Titchwell and that's where we met 17 years ago. I was later interviewed twice for a warden's job at Freiston and failed on both occasions despite having a sneaky look at the questions before the first one while the panel were at lunch. The silly sods had left them on the interviewers chair and the office door wide open...what's a boy to do? Still, I didn't get the job so maybe there is such a thing as Karma. Cheers for this video Sean, looking forward to the next one, Paul

Hello my friend and thank you so much. Well, the best place to research local history is the department for local studies at the public library. Apart from books and old periodicals they should also have a newspaper archive. I have found a great many stories about ghosts and legends in old news paper articles. Yes, it can be very time-consuming, but its a good way to spend an otherwise boring afternoon. I hope this has helped a bit? Thanks again.👍
