Watching January 2024 on a snowy night in NYC. Who else is vibing with the OG Queen of Pop? 😮 Can't believe how young I was when this song came out! Nostalgia overload as a child of the 80's. Younger people really don't understand how HUGE this was. When she came out, people went nuts. Millions of teen girls dressed like her. My best friend wore a million rubber bracelets. Everyone copied her. She instigated a complete cultural shift for women. No one today rivals the effect she had. She didn't need an expensive or "weird" video like the others, her songs stood on their own. And all w/o social media!

the days as you say " life was so simple and my parents too were young.." hearing this song again, , I last heard it was 15 or so year ago , I can't help but feel melancholy. I dont think that there will ever again be a period in time, musically, as it was in the 80's . The diversity of the amount of talent , it was astonishing ! Individuality , unique eclectic styles and genre of music . 1982 I was 17 ,1992 at 27yr I saw Madonna live for the 1st time , the Girlie Show , in Tel Aviev.

WOW, the 80's!!!!! Oct 1983, I was a Sergeant in the Marine Corps, headed to Marine Corps Drill Instructor School, Parris Island, SC I was 25 years old,. I remember MTV played this, Michael Jackson, and Prince all the time, I'll be 66 the end of April this year, where has time gone??????

💗This video is a true symbolism of what the 80s really stood for. A time where people loved each other were interested in other people instead of being self-centered on their cell phones taking selfies. People back then were very artistic they were very energetic they were very high vibrational they were very kind and very hopeful America is lost at all it's sad what the music industry has become the only beautiful artist of today is Lana Del Rey I really miss the 80s look at all the gorgeous clothes the fashion was incredible the energy was uplifting now it's just dark all the lights seems to be gone in the world which is very very sad I'm getting older and I'm glad I was able to live through the 80s that was the best decade ever the 90s were great too but these days are absolutely horrible the music is horrible like I said it's very very dark God bless you all🖤🖤🖤

Madonna is a very kind and generous soul; she reached out to my wife and I when we lost our son......she made a very large donation to a charity that was near and dear to us in his name. She's going through a difficult time with so many people talking behind her back and hating on her, but not us. She will always remain a champ to us and we hope that she knows that we will always love her and be in her corner. God Bless you, Madonna.

So 40 years after I first heard this as a teen, saw the video and thought, 'great song, don't really know what's going on in the video', I am re-watching this over and over again to see more and more meaning in the video - and the many taboo's being pushed. Interracial relationships - the full colour of the 'true' love, the temptation by glamour, but the dull reality of restrained movement and commercialisation (black & white), then graffiti-ing over classic patriarchal symbols, returning to roots, more sexuality with freedom of movement, I mean - mind blowingly ahead of her time and making huge social statements, while at the same time being so accessible and 'pop'-y... totally the greatest force on the planet. Celebrating the Celebration Tour for 40 years of crossing borders!

I don’t agree with the things being done but I do recognize it too especially in the 2020’s when these things back in the 80’s were just minuscule & NOT detrimental! But yet the 80’s us young ones (back then) still yearned for that white picket fence happy family life. Lots of imagery from the 50’s teen rebellion as well int his video! Great song! When she sprayed the car my mother in her typical Boricua way said oh my God . Mami was 46, me 26. My daughter 7,lol she loved Madonna. My mom passed away 4years ago. Edit 10/27/21) It’s almost a year later and I still come back to these comments and this video when I need to. I miss my mom every day but I try so hard to treasure all of my fond memories of her. Thank you all for your kind words. Hold your loved ones close and look to every corner of the world for joy. Hoping you all are having a restful day wherever you are, and if not, know there are many restful days to come. My mother took her own life this morning and I'm absolutely devastated. She had been struggling for a long time, and I'm glad that at least she's not in pain anymore now. This was one of her absolute favorite songs, and we used to scream it in the car together whilst driving to God knows where. She had a beautiful voice, and an even more beautiful soul. I miss her dearly, but I'm happy to at least have this and all of her other favorite 80s tunes to listen as I reflect on all of our wonderful memories we've made together. Rest in peace mom. You were the best woman I ever knew, and I will live every day of my life for you.

Here I am at 17, born 2004 and graduating in a few months, and loving all the 80s and 90s classics, my parents joke that I am an older soul in a younger body due to how much I enjoy everything about the 80s and 90s. My parents raised me on the right music and I am very thankful they did. Edit to this: I have graduated and managed to get two jobs.

It’ll be interesting once you get older. You’ll start to see alot of music trends/artists repeat themselves. When I was your age Madonna had alittle bit of a rough period and it was shocking to see her huge comeback with hung up. It’s hard to explain how shocking it was for both her and Mariah to have huge comebacks at the same time. It really was alot of fun.
