To me this version is the ultimate Substitute for Love. The humming at the end is tearjerking, all the beautiful chimes and sublime guitars. ‘Reverie’ is a daydream; this interpretation is stunning. Even though I don’t follow a faith, this makes you oddly feel closer to letting go and believing you’ve found you’re religion. This was and always will be the BEST era of Madonna.

Drowned World was my first Madonna concert even though I had tried to attend earlier shows. This song holds a special place because it was the soundtrack to seeing her in person for the first time. Her rising above the crowd and smoke will never be forgotten.

The real name for the album it was going to be named: The Drowned World. The point is that at that time Madonna had her newborn daughter, what happens, at that time Madonna was very involved in spiritualism, and she said in an interview for Vanity that the Halle Boop comet was a sign that the album was a ray of spiritual light in her life, in fact the comet was seen all over the planet in April 1997, the year Madonna was recording the album. That's why she changed its name, the reason was the light of the comet and the birth of her daughter.

This sounds like someone combined the instrumental of the album version, with the album version, and added over-samples of the instrumental, as snippets were pulled and repeated over and over. I cannot help but wonder since I didn't see any notification or documentation or citation of how this is "official"... Kind of funny how William Orbit doesn't even recognize it. --M.
