I remember hearing the original version of this driving down some back country West Virginia roads in 2001 when I was on leave from the Navy. I was wearing a straw hat and driving someone's old pickup truck to bring some canoes from one place to another on the south branch of the Potomac river. This came across the radio and time stood still and all life transcended through this moment. It was like a time warp in that I couldn't understand what I was hearing but I understood it to be "forever" somehow. Twelve years later in The Philippine Islands, I was in Manila and I had never heard the song since the first time and could never find it or know who/what it was. It came across the radio in Manila and I was on the 51st floor of one of the BSA twin towers in Ortigas and again, life stopped and it was like the universe stood still as I heard this song. There is something about this song, it's not normal, there is some sort of time warp aspect to this song. Some say music is timeless, but for this song I believe it manipulates time. The song was no doubt ahead of its time, but aside from that, I think it truly has supernatural powers. Something about this song is not of this earth or time.
