I wrote ‘I Rise’ as a way of giving a voice to all marginalized people who feel they don’t have the opportunity to speak their mind.. This year is the 50th anniversary of Pride and I hope this song encourages all individuals to be who they are, to speak their minds and to love themselves. Thematically “I Rise” is about coming together to fight adversity, the importance of strength, and surviving during the hardest times. *MADONNA*

I became a fan in December 2014 when the Rebel Heart leaked I was so confused about what was happening and why they were "demos" I was 14 at the time now I'm 18 and appreciate her artistry and how she constantly reinventes herself and her sound we need more visionaries like her in 2019 who experiment with sound and image.It also hurts me to see so many ageist comments towards her like come on people appreacite her while she's still with us not in her final days. 🖤❌❌

My gosh....Does this woman's creativity know no bounds? I am very very lucky to have grown up "with" Madonna - have been a huge fan since day one. From my 20's in the 1980s, through my 30's in the 1990s, my forties in the 00's, and now in my fifties in the 2010's. How extraordinary!!! Madonna never fails to bring great music.

I have never left a message on a KZfaq video before ever. But I feel like I have to. I have been a Madonna fan since the very beginning in 1983 and I have been so privileged to go on this journey with her throughout my life. But I've never had a reaction like this to one of her songs before. I've cried multiple times for songs because they spoke to me so much on first listen. But this...I have like this strange pressure in my chest and like my brain is numb. I can't even... this must be what awe feels like...

I'm glad you decided to share this! So many people seem to really take pleasure in trying to shame,discount,and dismiss Madonna. I've been a fan since the beginning as well and I know how amazing it's been to see her visions come to life and played out in videos/tours ect. Sean Miffin James Thank you for your reply and kind words. I know our Queen herself doesn't care what people think and say about her but as a lifelong fan, it is difficult to hear all the negativity. I just wish people could see how her whole career and life has always been about never being anything but your own authentic self, whoever that may at the time. No one stays the same. It's such an important lesson everyone should hear. If people could just open their minds, maybe then they'd appreciate what a remarkable artist and just human being she is.

I love how Madonna’s never wanted to be seen as a nostalgia artist and how in recent years she’s become even more politically outspoken. So many people have relied on Madonna’s music for emotional support in their lives and I’m so glad she’s still here, still expressing herself, absolutely on her own terms.

I had listened to it after midnight on Spotify. You know, I just listened to Medellin and I saw "I Rise" single....and I was like OMG. And I played it and started to cry. It is powerful song. Madonna is all I have ever known, breathed and fanatically supported. Madonna aided in my attaining puberty... and all the joys of adulthood ... lusted for her, first listened to music through her, fell in love with her, respected her, worshipped her and today amongst her most loyal fans, will continue to protect, promote and promulgate her in perpetuity. I owe that at the least - to my Queen. Legitimately crowned, anointed and placeth firmly on the pedestal.

I'm conflicted on this, it's not her voice voice. But then again, her singing voice as well as her actual voice have been different over the decades. Sometimes she sucks, sometimes she sings in her original whiney vibrato, sometimes she sings powerful and sometimes shes half British with a mumbley jumbley accent. This song sounds mostly autotuned, I'd like to see how she would do it live. The message and lyrics of this song were great though, I'm glad that's what people are mostly catching onto, but it's not her voice in this one that caught my attention whatsoever. I had no clue this was her when I heard it until I looked it up

@tdog pink is always on the damn radio, and not even her good stuff. I never ever hear madonna though, I wouldn't be surprised if the stations here never play this song. It's been over taken by panic at the disco bragging about how they're still famous, drake type artists singing about hotel rooms and bitches, every country song is 'I've got a truckkk, and a beeeer, and a lady in my truck with a beeeeer, and a boattt, and a doggg, and some whiskeyyy, and a cooooler with beer. the end.' the radio definitely does not play the new stuff that we actually want to hear, they play it wayyyy later after we've already heard it a million times and are sick of it.

That word didn't even exist before Instagram. Madonna spoke of it in a speech and some interviews, and like the word REDUCTIVE, fans made Ageism a perennial term for every day talk. Now, imagine, if someone mentions your age every chance they can. While its may not be an issue to you. It can get annoying, even if it is intended as a compliment. Its like a black fly, fans drop on every Gin Tonic Madonna serves. Radio doesn't play her, then fuck Radio. The world isnt America or Idaho. Radio dont play, coz her fan base dont give a damn about radio. Or she is Political and people who own the stations dont like her politics. Its that simple.

@Allison Bauch ageism is not an issue... But people who have a need to discuss something on social media takes a small seed and plant it to make a tree. Madonna does those interviews to make interesting for Magazine readers.... but its not her issue... Talking about something only makes it bigger and it ruins what beauty or message her music has. No one talks about AGEISM more than her fans... Because they want everything to be about them, their EGO and their social media addiction. WAKE UP. Ageism is for people like ROSE MCGOWEN or whoever celebrity who cant get a job anymore and so they RELY on social media politics to stay relevant. Madonna doesn't even care much about the issue. But she has SOCIAL MEDIA management team.

Madonna does not need awards, awards need her. She has the love of people around the globe from 4 decades. People of her stature died because of drugs/depression etc. She's still standing strong. She's true queen of pop. Many Madonna wannabes ( gaga etc.) came and went, she's still slaying!!
