I used to be a dance teacher and dancer and love all things to do with dance. Madonna's first passion was ballet and contemporary dance so it's no surprise to me that she is so exceptional when she puts aside the microphone and just lets rip. Besos y abrazos de Inglaterra! Of all her tours, I think her best dancing was in The Girlie Show. She excels at this kind of choreography. Even the smallest movements help tell a narrative. Every flourish of the hand is placed impeccably.

People can say what they want about Madonna, but at the time she used some of the best audio/video production equipment you could get in that day. This concert along with a few other like Yanni live at the Acropolis, Pink Floyd Pulse are off the charts on production. I used to sell Audio/Video for a living in the mid 90's, I'd put on a Laser Disc clip like this one, heavy on bass, projection TV, and knock the socks off people.

I was at this concert in Sydney in 1993. La Isla Bonita wasn’t a favourite song of mine from Madonna. But after seeing this I had a greater respect for it.

Madonna is what we call a living legend. Researching some old performances, I now understand why she has the title of queen of pop. The mark she left on pop culture is respectably admirable, she didn't make history she created history. In Rio de Janeiro now in May 2024, it will resurrect the landmark it has left for so long. Iconic. Timeless.

I keep watching this over and over because I want to learn this dance routine. Her arms and hands movements as well as the other dancers are so precise! The lead male dancer is fabulous! So studly! The choreography at the end though, ugh! Total badass.
