I was there with my wife at opening Monday night and again that Saturday of her 5 shows in L.A. completely awed by this epic entrance number. Almost 40 years ago when she first came down the stairs in 1985, to open her Virgin Tour, as if from heaven, cloaked with an astral jacket, earrings of crucifixes and a rosary around her neck, her eyes gleaming like stars and her charisma radiating-was like the birth of an icon. Then her long journey until last summer in the middle of rehearsals for this tour, she got seriously ill and went through a near-death-experience. She narrated that she was in induced coma at the hospital ICU for a few days, and the spirit gods came in her dream and asked her if she wanted to come with them, and she snapped back into consciousness and the first word she uttered according to her nurse was “NO!!” Now in this dramatic opening of her Celebration Tour, a huge ring evoking a cosmic, celestial tunnel slowly lifted up with laser beams pointing up, revealing Madonna on a revolving circular stage in a gleaming black gown and a halo of twinkling little stars-conjuring up the icon’s rebirth and return to earth, singing a mystical song that speaks of a renewed sense of purpose and priorities…of her realizing that “..something is ending, and something begins..”. Awesome artistic vision of birth-death-rebirth coming full circle. I only hope that fate will continue to smile on her for the rest of her journey in this life.

I saw her Amsterdam 2 December, I literally was like the person screaming loudly as she came on stage, cried and screamed and sang my heart out, drunk or not it was the best show I’ve ever seen bar none ❤🎉
