Her voice was very, really very fantastic in this song. Strong, powerful, unique. If she makes an album in this way again, the world will undestand, one more time, that Madonna will be Madonna - forever! There will always have new singer, but Madonna is Madonna, a muse. And her voice touchs our souls as no one does.

Her voice helped through so much. I lost my mum when American life came out. And we would sit round the fire and sing nothing fails. It gave me a sense of belonging. To my family and Madonna.

The fact that so many demos are leaking that most people had no idea even existed, has me wondering exactly how much stuff is in those once tightly locked Madonna vaults! Here is Set The Right another one from the American Life session. Once again, this is an acoustic number that blends in electronic elements, it’s probably another Mirwais production and is a nice addition to our demo collections!

First time I'm listening to this and American Life is probably my fave Madonna album. This is a very good song, she actually has lots of good songs that were cut off from her albums and I wonder why she didn't release them as b-sides at least. Many Pop artists have tons of b-sides.

Love how you describe her voice as fragile and honest. I usually talk about the breadth and depth of her recording voice - her ability to convey all sorts of emotions from bittersweet, regretful and hurt to sweetness and light. But fragile and honest is so true here. Thanks

I really like this album, it has veracity, the melodies are in a comfortable area and make the voice of Maddona mature sound natural. Only bad in excess of average quality electronic sounds common in professional keyboards. The lyrics are all excellent, just like this one who really admires the work of singer, not those who just follow what others say.

This song would definitely make my list of my top 40 Madonna songs! I have to agree with all the people who would like an album of demos and unreleased songs from the AL album sessions. The most underrated of her entire career.

I think it was a decision of last minute to let it out of the album, maybe because of the big controversy of the first single, so Madonna and Mirwais decided to keep the less offensive material included on the album in the end. If you notice, this song sounds finished, it doesn't sound like a demo at all.

American Life is my favourite album and the unreleased tracks were all my favourite too! Her voice sounded better here compared to her other albums (Like A Prayer and Ray Of Light are different stories though!). I can really listen to 'real' voice. It's just so fragile and honest... The thing with Madonna, she'd always turn the expectations around! Predicts the unpredictable, she's a Queen!

Yeah, this definitely should have been on AL. They could have at least remixed it to make it more dance-oriented and put it on Celebration as a bonus track like she did with "It's So Cool."
