Yes it’s true this was the first half time performance that was watched more than the game it self and at the time was the most watched TV event in history. You can look it up! And it really did set the standard for what the halftime shows would look like after with the theatrics, big entrances major budget shows that they are today. In typical Madonna fashion she changes the game at every turn.

Leonardo Ramos The performances on the Super Bowl are always big and extra. You just don’t go there to “sing” you actually put on a complete show for entertainment (Madonna is a perfect example) which is something your lady Gaga lacks.

Madonna wanted to come down from the ceiling of the stadium but the building didn't have the capacity to accommodate that, so she had to use other props, unlike GaGa where THAT stadium had the capability for her to descend from the rooftop

This is definitely my favorite Super Bowl Halftime Show ever. My only criticism is that I wish she did "Ray of Light" or a medley of some of her biggest hits instead of "Give Me All Your Luvin'."

She's is Madonna, she didn't need to do more or people would start to criticize her age, however if you really look at the details it's the most expensive production in a halftime show, everything it's so well put together, it's a giant stage with screens all over the floor and her backup dancers were Cirque Du Soleil wearing the best outfits. If you compare her entrance with Katy Perry it's like if Madonna has stayed at the throne the whole time, which she didn't, so Madonna's opening act was better.

Ladies. Madonna’s early video Burning Up is one of her best. Her rolling around in the street is probably her sexiest moment of all time. It’s a must watch. Fun fact: the same director directed Michael’s Billie Jean video. It’s very 80s. Hot. 🔥🔥🔥

As much as I truly enjoy you both loving Madonna & her performance, I find it comical how oblivious you both are with Madonna. She was there for us gays in the 80’s/90’s. The young generation really don’t know how horrible those decades were. And for that, I will always be grateful for her. Such an inspiration along with Elton John, even tho they are no longer on good terms. But that’s another story. Keep up the good work 👍🏻

The last time, a female artist has headlined Superbowl was in 1996 with Diana Ross. After Madonna's ground breaking performance NFL started getting more women performers to headline the half time show

Most Superbowls halftime shows are not performed live. Because of the crowd noise and echo of the venue it makes it hard to control the quality of vocals and musical arrangement. So, most artists lip synch to prerecorded vocals few sing live-but with the pre-tape vocals turned up. With Prince's halftime Superbowl (no back up vocal tape was used) he did sing live and play guitar live (the other accompany music was pre-recorded and played back on tape while he performed. Prince did this to avoid bad sound board mix during the broadcast, amongst the other crowd noise issues. ) So getting back to Madonna; she most likely lip synch the show.

If you watch closely and Madonna talked about it in an interview. She said she usually doesn’t cry or get emotional but at the Beginning of Like a prayer when she turns around and looks at the crowd and sees all phones lights and flashes from camera and not one person sitting she said she took a sigh and her eyes got a little watery holding back tears . She said this was the Biggest thing she’s ever done and couldn’t believe how many people standing for her at a Halftime show. #Epic

OMG, calling M.I.A. "that girl" should be a sin! LOL, please, check her out if you haven't! She's so underrated. You can’t really compare Madonna to Michael besides both being the two biggest stars in the world she like everyone else Madonna was inspired by Michael. She even did a quick tribute to him on her very first tour and even had members of Michaels band on the road with her. She also hired his manager to be hers. If you haven’t seen Michaels half time show check it out! Talk about an entrance!!!
