She has been the greatest solo performer world wide artist! Erotica has been one of the best songs that brought me up to encouter my sexuality and being myself! there's only Fairuz's "El Yom 'Ulliqa 'Ala Khashaba" in a very small part, aside from that this is of a Hip Hop meets Enigma with the Madonna Touch Aka the progress of Justify My Love...IMO as good as JML is this is even better.

The tiny part of this song we're it's sampled isn't the reason it's adored. It's underground hip hop style of production is what makes it cool. Too many people would love to paint Madonna as an involved artist, like so many today, but that is inaccurate. She got her by talent, hard work and visionary artistry.

I watched and listened and read everything I could on this album: she wanted it scratchy, she wanted a parched dry vocal style for most of the song. There are samples from “ Jungle Boogie “ in it... my favorite album by the Queen of Pop !!

This song was destroying my speakers back in '92 cos the bass is so loud while treble and vocals are kinda subdued. Someone ought to give this song & the rest of the Erotica tracks a new texture for better appreciation. It's a nice album but the cover art isn't. (6/28/13)

FourEyes Oh if you only knew; it was done purposely to be less “ produced “and they did NOT lay like 24 ‘tracks ‘ and used an eight track recorded on the album. She purposely wanted to sound ‘ dry ‘ and ‘ hoarse for her effect on it. I’ll be honest with y’all; EROTICA was the first CD I ever bought and I played it on my new stereo and I was pissed off cuz I thought it was my CD player that was not working right! I now know that the first track was SUPPOSED TO BE SCRATCHY AND “ vinyl “. Anyway, it’s my favorite M album! Enough said!
