Great review. SHF hasn't implemented bicep or elbow swivel on a lot of their Marvel figs including Cap., WS, Falcon. It's like a trend or something. Yet the IM, WM figs and others have this articulation. Oh well.

I feel like Figuarts Cap would be ideal if you just want a Cap figure that you can have fun playing with. On the other hand, Mafex is what you would get if you want a closer resemblance to Chris Evans.

The worst thing about the SHF is the yellow skin tone. It makes the inaccurate likeness look worse. The only thing I prefer about SHF over Mafex is the range of movement.

Mafex has a more accurate shield I think there is lining in the star but in the pic you showed you can’t really see it

The SHF is way too skinny, with an inaccurate face, and the battle damage just looks like sand. The proportions and face are way better on the Mafex and I have luckily had zero qc issues with mine. Both of them have engineering problems when it comes to attaching the shield to the arms or the back. Same as the problem both companies had with attaching the rifle to the back of their Mandalorian figures. Magnets in both the shield and back would be so much more easier.

The shield is inaccurate btw, that’s the design used in “Battle of New York”

Mafex is far better in my opinion the shield is far better in every way sculpt paint skin tone scale and accessories

VERY GOOD VIDEO LIKE ALL YOU DO, THANK YOU. Shf plus note studio head is a very perfect figure, very good articulations, good image, good color, even the size is good. Mafex has good articulations, good color, more striking image, but I would not say that the mafex is better by one reason alone, you can't pay for a figure the price that mafex has and that the pieces, the arms, the head come loose.... You pay for a good figure not for something that is destroyed in the hands. I have the shf with note studio head and I'm waiting for the mafex and honestly I regret what I see in various tutorials. I will not buy mafex again, it is not a serious brand, you wait a year for a very expensive and finished figure and for a price that is not worth it.

the shf has ankle swivel, the mafex doesn't, that's an articulation point you didn't counted

I ordered 2 Mafex Captain America EG from Amiami. The 1st figures doesn’t have any issue at all. The secord piece has slightly loose left arm swivel but not that much. I am displaying/posing him once in the center of my collection and never touch him again. So I am completely happy with the Mafex Cap. If you want him to display and just be looking good in your collection, get the mafex. If you want to play with him more often and posing him differently most of the time, get the SHF. But I tell you, Mafex Cap looks really really good. The only downside is the quality but if you are lucky and get a piece without any issue. Oh Man! Like my comment if you have one without issue. 👍🏼

Where do we find mafex release dates or sh figuarts release dates? I can't ever figure when stuff come out for those I'm new to them

Mafex by a long shot. Not even close. Marvel Legends is better than SHF as well.

Mafex torso design is more accurate

I was never really a fan of the Figuarts figure just because it looked too plain, bland and clean and the fact that it took them 2 tries to get it right (and even then, still wasn't perfect) really highlights my frustration with SHF Captain America figures.

If you want a quality figure as far as plastic feel and articulation get SHF. If you want a figure that looks good but build quality is poor get Mafex. The Mafex Captain America reminded me of when I was a kid and used to wear costumes because of the hood laying over the boots lol that can’t me good for the articulation on the foot.

first, mafex is too strong, cap's shape is never as strong as mafex. Just don't think cap is a super strong guy. go search for the picture in the movie. if you want a figure which has a accurate shape, you won't go for mafex. and of course, I don't think anyone can accept the gap between mafex's chest and waist. it just looks ridiculous. second, don't lie to yourself, mafex's headsculp isn't that good, both figure have the same likeness. shf might not be the best option for an EG cap, but mafex definitely is not a thing you need to consider.
