The whole veil is lifting in every industry. Not only the music industry. I feel a collective need for change. A need to replace all these systems that have been put in place by people in power. Modern day slavery.

Michael can explain it well enough so there is no need to cut in every 10 seconds.
@gerardb1722 ай бұрын
He is hearing Michael saying that the music industry in the US is compromised by money and yet he says it can't be done. All these no talent people like Nas X are topping the charts and getting Grammies. The culture doesn't drive music, the industry does. Some of the most talented musicians can't even get their music out simply because they don't want to play industry games. He lost me with that statement. The industry outside the US has more integrity and is less corrupt.

The CD wasn't introduced until 1979, and didn't start outselling cassettes or records until the 1990's. The guy in the video is talking about record stores in the early seventies. Roullette was publishing vinyl records, not CD's.

I don’t know if anything could work, there are obviously ways to boycott but that wouldn’t happen, because there are just so many ignorant users and kids using these services that just couldn’t care less unless its them being affected, we’ve lost unity and that’s what the top people in the world (not even just this industry) are banking on

I don't know why people just don't start their own music path. You don't need labels and record companies anymore. Today, this can be done by yourself. It might be hard, but it's possible if you want it enough. I just hope those of you who are serious about your craft can understand this. Don't get caught up in a trap over a few dollars 🌗
@EzekiahJames10 ай бұрын
So to your question « how do you translate those assets to the digital world », I invented sound shares for artists to be able to trade royalties under NFT format, fanbase investments unlocking ROI for music enthusiasts and instant funding at their stated price by artist. Take a look, don’t hesitate to give feedback.

the last time I checked(right before i closed my acc with distrokid) between itunes, spotify and beatport i had approx 400 sales (i know thats not many on the grand scale of things but alot for me) but from those approx 400 i made $5.04 lolol couldn't believe it hence closing my distrokid acc..............sadly, making music isn't done for the money its done for one's sanity and passion and its one of the only "jobs" that someone can do for years and years and not get enough money to survive lol..sadly
@akagerhard Жыл бұрын
I'm very confused that you claim that in the US money can't buy placements, because hits come from culture and taste. That's the opposite of the rest of the video and doesn't match my experience at all. When I look at Billboard, I don't see the best music.
@busyworksbeats Жыл бұрын
I said money can’t buy a hit. If that were the case, anyone with money could be at the top. That’s not the case. Yes, they spend money to reach the top but there still has to be a viable product.
@Deco_2k Жыл бұрын
Fact, all these labal pay the radio to promote their artist they get a package from the radio station, that mean if they have like 2 artists for example with music that have some buzz the radio push it, its promotion but its sorta like the same thing cause money involved like Bw said it should be the ppl calling in and requesting the music..

One day they'll probably start creating popstar holograms and AI.. next generation might get something like Hannah Montana but a hologram version just to get the masses used to it-and the music industry won't be losing any money hiring artists. do you know those crazy 3-D videos that you see in New York and big cities.. concerts will be like that-inside those new domes like you see in Vegas the sphere.

BEST ADVICE 2 Instead of trying to cram all of your knowledge in one video. Organize your thoughts & content then break it down into multi-part series.
@muthalicious10 ай бұрын
BEST ADVICE: Will you please leave your commentary at the end. You clearly have knowledge to share. Simply review the content, write down your talking points and go down the list at the end. The interruptions are extremely annoying.
