Well, pretty much everyone from the original Mafia is dead or obscenely old. Maybe Mafia 2 characters will make reappearances, but I woulnd't expect many.

Couldn't agree more. I remember getting it for PC back in 2002 and I was just beyond hooked. Must've played through it 3-4 times. Was so shocked playing Mafia 2 when you end up being the guy who takes Tommy out, heavy indeed! Very excited to get my hands on Mafia 3!

Why people constantly say Mafia 1 was better? How? Shooting was outdated so not fun. Most of your missions were you driving around and it took awhile to get from A to B. The story and ending was better in Mafia 2. And you even have the ending of Mafia 1 in Mafia 2.

Noctis. Because it was better. Shooting is outdated for you because of the modern-day standards. But for the time period it was made, it damn felt real and till this day every bullet hits us like it's real. The story in Mafia 2 was better? Lol, rushed and short as if you died halfway through the experience. Each and every character in Mafia was built amazingly and the developing bond with a gamer was perfect. The ending is one of the saddest ending, nothing short of a movie that portrays betrayal in a magnificent way and how nothing ends but comes back like a circle in life. As for driving around, it made you familiar with a city, you grew emotionally attached with the places as if you lived there. This is what is missing from games in today. All the gameplay and graphics covering up for poorly written storylines. There will never be another gem like Mafia or Max Payne. Their story-telling surpasses the comprehension of today's writers.

Make a video on that. Call it "Mafia 3 in 3 seconds"

I expect so There are some czech developers left in the Hangar 13, but it's all very very americanized and the people who are just making crucial decisions for the game are totally different people than people who were in the lead for the first two Mafias, it's like taking the Beatles, change every brand member in there only leaving them with the same name and expecting that it will be still such a good brand, no, it will not

Well. Better voice acting, better gameplay as shooting in Mafia 1 was bad due to it being old. Mafia 1 also was mostly driving around. Driving was like 70% of the game. And a better story/ending. I feel these are the most important things about Mafia and Mafia 2 did it better. I think people like Mafia 1 a lot due to nostalgia. But I completed Mafia 1 and Mafia 2 both a couple months back and had a lot more fun with Mafia 2.

It's not being developed by a studio outside San Francisco. You're devs made some awesome games though.

I wasn't sad. I was raging the first time I played. When later Joe and Vito shot up the Chinese restaurant, I burned every single one of them with Molotov's. After I found out he was a rat I was glad he was dead.

+RiotnRespect if mafia 2 and gtav were made in the same time frame with the same funding I do not doubt Mafia would be better. But gtav had better funding and was made after mafia and had more progress to work with.

Abraham Jacob not really a fair comparison since one tries to be 100% serious while the other tries to be serious but with a lot of humor. It’s like comparing Saints Row and GTA. Only real similarities is open world crime. Story, gameplay, engines, etc, all completely different.

Claro que é uma comparação justa. GTA pode ser satírico em certos momentos, mas tem uma história bem fundamentada na realidade e que infelizmente foi muito fraca, o game serviu mais para agradar quem gosta de jogar online. Mafia, ao contrário, apresenta um mundo com histórias complexas e conectadas.

I don't really remember any bugs in the first one... Still if anyone is able to take an old game for what it is and move past the graphics... PLAY MAFIA THE CITY OF LOST HEAVEN. It's great! Yeah better than 2, but 2 was pretty amazing anyway.

Tom Harris Mafia 3 is a disappointment. It didn't live up in any single way to mafia 2. Story was good but the games Is so padded that it takes a million whack this guy and steal from this place to even get to the story. Mafia 3 could have been a decent 6 hour game instead of a 20+ hour filler fest. I am gutted and I hope that they do it justice with the season pass.
