Kathy does all of the production management work for both VoicePlay and for Geoff. Typically if something is thrown or handed in mid-video, that's also Kathy. On "We don't talk about Bruno" when the rose petals are being blown in and Geoff gets the Disney Princess look? It's Kathy blowing the petals, and that seems to be pretty much always the look he gets when he looks at her. Sweet.

This version, the classic version, and Vincent Price's version from "The Monster Club" movie are my favorites of this particular song...seriously can't go wrong with any of them and to hear Vincent Price sing "Monster Mash" is an absolute treat...gotta hear it and a good Vincent Price cackle at least once during October..more is preferred and ESPECIALLY on Halloween day itself.

Need to react to Geoff new release "Ghost riders in the Sky"

This was last year's offering. Geoff has said “Did you pick up on the "la la la" at the start? It's Bach's toccata and fugue in d minor, just shuffled and swung”. At the end, there is a hint of Fur Elise. The woman on the sofa is his wife Kathy. The reason they had to reshoot is because the first one was just too creepy. Geoff's new one for this Halloween has just come out, and it's Ghost Riders in the Sky. And it's fabulous.

just so you know and i'm sure many more will come out with it.. VoicePlay has came out with a hot new song that is right up your alleyway it's called "In The Hall Of The Mountain King (acapella) VoicePlay Ft. Elizabeth Garozzo" definitely need to give it a watch for they had way to much fun doing this one

Thing I loved about this cover is Geoff kept the theme of the song from Bobby Picket's original being about the 'Big 4' monsters of cinema at the time. 1st Geoff was the mad scientist, of course, and following left to right - Dracula, Wolfman (scratching at fleas by his ear) and Frankenstein's monster. The Mummy wasn't there visually - kinda wondered about that, actually - but all four are represented in Geoff's choreography. Awesome reaction, as always, Maggie! Keep 'em comin'! 😁 ...and, by-the-by, Geoff did just release a new cover of _Ghost Riders..._ 😇

Each of the dance moves is an homage to one of the classic movie monsters. First is Frankenstein's Monster (Arms out), next is Wolfman (looks like he's howling at the moon), then Dracula (hiding behind his cape and finally, The Mummy (wrapped in bandages so he can't move his arms)

Love the random woman part... I'm sure that Kathy will laugh at that....... Please, please, please do not wait a year before you listen to Geoff's new one Ghost riders in the sky...... It is amazing...No dancing but you don't need it .......

Honestly, I'm glad you had to re-upload because I'd forgotten how much fun your reaction was. This was the video that turned ME into a Geoff-obsessive. May it grow into the holiday classic it deserves to be! Some commenter said VoicePlay is still coming out with a Halloween video. I thought that's what Hall of the Mountain King was, but maybe we have another on the way! And then there'll be Christmas! 🎃🎶🎄🎵🤍

Geoff just did a new one for this Halloween, Ghost Riders In The Sky. It's not weird it's Geoff. He did have a choreographer. The woman on the couch is Geoff's wife Kathy. He works with his wife all the time. She does most of the BTS videos. lol. Geoff is worth every penny.

The positions in the dance were all classic monster poses. In order: Frankenstein's monster, Swamp Thing (i think), Dracula, The Mummy.

Kathy was also a performer (that's how she and Geoff met).

It's so fun when Wolfman realizes his hips are moving! Frankenstein's Monster does the Floss! This video needs at least four viewings to fully appreciate it, one for each character, with headphones on so you can hear the heartbeat at the beginning, among other details. This was my first ever introduction to Geoff, that led me down the rabbit hole to VoicePlay and other a cappella groups. It's still one of my all-time favorites ... though his newest, Ghost Riders In the Sky, is AWESOME.

sped up effect is done by filming at a slower tempo then bringing it up to the right tempo again to make it look very mechanical / jerky

Next one needs to be his current release of Ghost Riders in the Sky, which has a definite Halloween vibe to it

The effect you are seeing is from them filming it with a strobe light, and if you watch her closely throughout the video she flinches when he hits the real low notes.

This was the first acapella KZfaq video (I was keeping up with politics but the Monster Mash thumbnail in the list) I saw last year mid October. I love that Wolf Man has fleas. Then went to find more it was VoicePlay's Hoist the Colours! My life has not been the same since. Love it! Have you seen Geoff and Kathy's video on them coping with her hearing loss? Very tender from both of them. It's not all gone but it does keep her from singing anymore. Check out his new one Ghost Riders in the Sky! and VoicePlay's In the Hall of the Mountain King. Hello Maggie. I really enjoyed your reactions to this and many others, following along with you. I've been singing the Bobby "Boris" Pickett version for 4 decades but I must have Geoff's version now for my karaoke business! I did notice that you missed something, with all that was going on. Maybe you just didn't have time to mention it but if you did you must play it back, it's in 2 points and it's an incredible part of the dancers. The 3 dancers, they add more to their dance moves each time they go back to them. The song lyrics "the coffin baggers were about to arrive with their vocal group The Crypt Kicker 5". In the original it jumps into the chorus again (they did the mash) but on this one he sings up to ... vocal group and then the 3 dancers go into harmony with the crypt kicker 5 and as that happens you see the real Geoff on the left counting to 5. Listen, the 3 dancers all break bones as they make a dance move and it happens again by the end of the chorus, it's a painful sounding crunch, had they been alive but it's the perfect addition to this version. I'm loving the reaction videos, they're keeping me from being depressed. Doctor found lumps on my vocal cords and now doing thyroid test and MRI, I can barely talk and it's driving me crazy that I can't sing at the moment. I'd love to have you hear me on some tracks I have recorded, very much Vince Gill Colin Raye type voice. I'd be your duet partner if surgery lets me sing again and I will probably be lower if other people's experience is also mine. I'd be honored if you would DM me or FB messenger?
