The index finger on the back is clutch. This can be applied to make other false shuffles more bulletproof too. Always afraid I'm gonna lose the break and this makes it foolproof.

I found you thanks to Shin Lim. I'm a fan of natural handling of cards and this is one of the most brilliant manipulations ever. Deceptive and relatively easy to perform. It's now my immediate go-to. Glad I found you.

Interesting handling. This is the same shuffle I use, except I don't use the forefinger to separate the packets, the peeled off cards just get wedged between the backs of the second finger and thumb. The final packet just sort of falls off when those two digits are relaxed a little. A "feel" thing, I guess. I was using the method of dropping a packet, counting four cards backjogging the fourth, cutting at the jog, counting four cards again, and throwing the rest on top. Served me well for years but it's easier to get a natural action with your method.

I found that it is possible to do it with the finger on top instead of curled behind, but sometimes I mess up when doing it that way. I think if I keep practicing that way, I should eventually be able to do it consistently. EDIT: After 2 months, I feel pretty confident doing it without curling the finger behind, so it's pretty hard for a spectator to tell it's a false shuffle, even if they have seen this video.

Do you know the origin of this move e.g who invented it or from which book? I’ve been using truffle shuffle and false overhand shuffle(1 cut per each move). This one looks very good !
@ekatmagic4 жыл бұрын
it's been over 10 years since I was first exposed to this move... I am not sure to be honest on the origin. Over the years, I've tried to make this look the most like the actual shuffle. I am open to receive more info and update credits in the description.
